Simple Electrical Problem

I removed both batteries from my boat (2008 RZ2) end of last season to keep them charged. I re-installed them, checked all the connections, and I'm getting absolutely no accessory power. The engine turns over and the stereo works, but none of the interior/exterior lights, bilge blower, acc fan, is working at all. I checked all of the fuses in the battery compartment, the pop-offs under the console, the 40amp service switches are both on, and I'm getting nothing. The batteries are both at 14V. It's got to be something simple I have over looked?

I would triple check that everything got connected to the batt. Sounds like you are missing a connection.

I agree, look for a rogue battery cable thats not connected. Next, check the helm supply breaker that mounted to the transom above the batteries.

Yes gentlemen, it was simple. I pulled the plastic jacket back on one of the cables that I though was a (-) and it was actually a (+), connection had black electrical tape covering the red wire. Too late to take it out for the maiden voyage now.

A nice tip for the winter, get red and black zip ties. When you pull the terminals off run zip tie through them. Keeps everything organized for each battery that way and easy re-install in the spring.

Another vote for the tyrap approach. There are a lot of cables flying around back there... two tyraps is cheap insurance.

Yeah, believe it or not I had them all zipped tied, somewhere I messed up. This fall I will color code the jackets with tape. Stupid easy mistake.
