    Tige's for sale

Why is there not a classified section for "individual" tigeowner boat salesin this forum? Although there are a multitude of indirect point of sale service providers on the internet, I believe it would be helpful for those buyers and sellers of tiges to be in forum that is seperate from dealers and manufacturers.

I am definitely interested in other members ideas regarding this. In my opinion, it definitely is an odd oversight to what I would describe as an extremely informative forum.

That would be a good idea. And to expand it more you could sell gear as well as parts or other stuff like that.

Matt explained this a year ago or so, I belive it is because they want to stress the value of trading in your tige to the dealer for a new one.

Not to sound stupid but what would the value be? And why would it be different than selling to a fellow Tige enthusiast??

gotta agree w/bfrank....when has a dealer ever given actual market value on a trade? thats how they make money buy low/sell high.

Hey, I didn't say the value was to you, the seller/trader.

Value might have been the wrong word, FWIW I was trying to repeat what I thought Matt had written a year or so ago.

I did a Search and came up with nada on finding that post. This is the thread I thought it was in. So I'm probably full of .......

            Boat for sale

Apparently it is simply against Tige policy though. See the Announcement in the Classified section.

Actually, I think there's more missing than just a simple classified section for boats. I think the profile needs to be expanded to allow you to describe your ride in a lot more detail (including pictures). That's one really nice thing about Wakesiderides.

Having said that, I think you'd be better served selling your boat on that site because it's got a much broader audience (they have sections for most inboard manufacturers). Perhaps an arrangement between Wakesiderides and Tigeowners that would allow you to cross post?

This site is very informative when you need information about your Tige.

                I agree with you dog.

Wakesiderides.com is set up really nice, and I would like this site to carry some of the functionality of it. Matt is working on some of that though!

Too bad the bat is there though! Maybe not for long.

You got a little inside info there Mr. Moderator? I haven't seen that fruitcake around in while. He really should leave that stuff a church. Everyone else does.

                  On the WSR tip:

It is a pretty cool set up. The individual ride pages are a very nice feature. I can understand Tige's stand on the classifieds and don't have a problem with that. WSR is way better for that anyways.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

You mean "he who shall not be named", right?

I know Matt is working on some stuff. I was just dumping my thoughts. I'm kind of on the fence on the for sale thing...although having more descriptive info on rides would be very good.

A Model guide would be cool too.

Telling each years available models, the hull they had, which taps version, stuff like that.

Yup. Hopefully Andrew will be able to round these up for us...even if it's just old brochures

I have an origional brochure for the 97 line up. I could scan it in and add it to my pictures.

See if you can e-mail it to Matt Garcia so he can put it in the downloads section of the site. The pictures are limited in size.
