I think the wave system waves are different beasts. If you have been riding a listed wave, at first the surf system waves feel wrong. They are usually more rounded (rampy) and have push in different spots. It seems like you need to have a rail dug in less than a listed wave.
I find the couple surf gate style boats I have ridden that skim style tricks (360s) are easier and airs are harder. It also seems like it takes more weight to get a good wave.
For moose, the Vx or and is likely preferable because the extra drag of surf systems will be murder at elevation of Tahoe. I couldn't believe how much it affected the power on my boat. Maybe the Raptor can do it but I would want to Demo with all the weight prior to trying TAPS3, Go surf Assist, surf gate, NSS, etc etc.
