The drain hose SHOULD be on the bottom rear of the sack. If it is on the top of the sack, then I would be surprised if it drains at all.
If your drain hose is coming off of the top of the sack, then I consider that a problem. Aerator pumps like these have their advantages and disadvantages. One disadvantage is that they can never get every last drop out, and create a suction like an impeller style pump can do. 20 pounds of water in the sack is not a big deal compared to your 5,000 pound boat. Unless I were transporting it to another state where an inspection is going to happen, or winterizing, I would not worry.
Tige didn't put quick connects on the sack from the factory?
