    Thoughts on 2011 R20 with 397 hours

I'm currently looking at a 2011 Tige R20 with 397 hours on it and was wondering what everyones thoughts on the amount of hours on it. It had 1 owner and was traded back into the original dealer for an upgrade. Price is $39,999 but the hours have me a little iffy on the whole deal.

All thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!!!

If it was properly maintained, which a higher hour boat usually is since the owners are actually using it.... Figure that's roughly 80 hours per year. I run anywhere from 80-100 hours per year on our boat. You could always have it checked out by an independent inspector.

I haven't followed the R20 pricing enough to determine if the pricing is "right" or not. Regarding the hours, considering that a 2011 could already have 5 full seasons on it, that breaks down to just under 80 hours a season. Depending on the region, this is most likely average. Around here, in MN, I would say the average is about 50 engine hours per year, with the exception of those that live on (not a cabin) a lake, they probably are 100+ hours a year. As long as it was taken care of and the maintenance was performed, I wouldn't foresee an issue.

You can check out NADA to give you a rough estimate on the blue book value. I'd agree that the hours seems to be average.

400 hours is nothing for a boat. Should give you many more years of enjoyment.

I wouldn't be scared off by the hours, that just means someone actually used the boat! I'd rather have the one that was being used regularly than the one that sat around on the trailer or in the slip.

I don't really keep up on the used R20 market but that seems high. Based off the fact lightly optioned 2012 and 2013 R20's sold new for that. I sold a few 2013 hold over's fall of 2013 for between 39-41K. All 3 under 20 hours.

                  IMO:

Hours are just fine if not perfect for that as long as it was maintained.

Price depends entirely on your location and options, after market upgrades, etc.
