I investigated underwater transom lights when we had our previous boat built. On that boat I had 2 LifeForm LED's in blue. For whatever it's worth, here is what the dealer told me: White lights are the brightest. Blue was their top seller for recreational boaters & surf boats. The blue produces a vibrant & crisp light effect in night time water. Green was also popular, but most popular with fisherman. Fisherman felt the green light attracted more bugs and bait-fish better than the other colors. Also in areas with poor visibility, green lights will make the water appear cleaner & reflect less particulate. Red lights produced the least amount of light compared to white, blue or green. They said it ultimately came down to personal preference. All the colors produce "cool-looking" effects on the night time wake & sufficiently light up swim areas behind the boat at night. Many people simply chose the color based on their boat color. For lighting up the night wake & sneaking in a night surf (which is frowned upon around here) I personally like the blue. My friends have green. Both work fine. When I just had Tige build our 2016 Z3 I put 2 LED lights again. For convenience sake, I had Tige install them at the factory. Tige uses SeaBlaze 3 lights. They are not as bright as LifeForms, but appear sufficiently bright enough for our use (and they do cost less). The SeaBlaze LED's Tige uses can be set to white or blue & operate from the Tige Touch screen. The Lifeforms were great & bright!
