    SureShade RTX Telescoping Bimini

One of the biggest pains we have is putting up the bimini before we drop the boat in the water. I saw this today searching for a better solution http://www.sureshade.com/rtx-pull-out-tele-frame-shade. Looks pretty cool, I doubt it would work on the new Alpha Z tower. Seems to be pretty pricey(2800) from what I could find. Has anyone seen these?

You know how I know that my marriage will last forever? Because my wife and I have not yet killed each other putting up our Bimini. Tige got everything right on the RZ2 but the Bimini. I would love something like this but if it's 2800 then I'll just stick with getting a tan.

I hear ya, I just sent an email inquiry I'll let you know what the real price is. I think 1500 is reasonable since a new bimini is in the 800 - 1000 range. I would gladly pay an extra 500 for a much easier bimini, but not 2800.

The only other thought I had regarding price is you could just take it off and put it on the next boat provided the tower is compatible.

I don't even know what kind of tower I have or what my options are. Anyone know what the tower on a 2007 RZ2 is? Thought about a fixed T top.

HA, I just saw that you were my Neighbor. If that's Pflugerville TX I see we are just down the road from each other.

Yes we are, I live in blackhawk. I'm thinking of replacing my tower next year with the samson blade https://samsonsports.com/wakeboard-t...eboard-towers/. It's the best alternative to the Alpha Z since we can't install it. I actually think it's pretty nice.

Awesome. We spend a couple days a week out on Lake Georgetown. Thursday night is my weekly board meeting.

I've been to lake georgetown once and thought it was pretty nice, I was just demoing are old boat for someone and didn't get a chance to explore. We like going to granger lake since it's pretty empty out there. The Tige Wetsounds Z3 is always out there.

Yea not bad, bartlett sails makes a custom one you weld on and never have to take down/up. Problem is trailering it. http://www.bartlettsails.com/biminis/ It's about the 8th picture i believe, looks a bit like center console biminis with the looping.

The thing I really don't like about that retractable bimini is the poor coverage. Unless you are sitting in the center of the boat (you're not) some part of you is always in the sun. A good bimini comes down over the sides of the framework just a bit. It makes a huge difference. I'll agree the arch tower biminis look like a pain and don't really offer that much shade. I would definitely have a custom one made. Worth the money IMO.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

According to their site they are supposed to have model that will retract forward and aft, which would be kind of cool. I would like to see how it would work with tower speakers on the tower.

That's a pretty cool idea. I'd think you would have to possibly have an anchor strap to hold it down so it didn't flex or want to flip back at +33mph. It looks pretty rigid but wind still has a lot of force.

I will agree that the Alpha Z bimini is a bit of a pain to do considering I trailer to the lake so I am always having to put it up and take it down. At the same time it only took me a few times out last year to get my system down on how to do it. Quite often I have to do it by myself as well which always takes some extra juggling.

We have the older tower with 4 attach points super big pain in the but.

My bimini is a pain too (and usually I am putting it up solo and my wife corrals all the kids). I am upgrading to a monster cargo bimini and will just remove the fabric and leave the frame up. My buddy does that on his boat and its much easier to deal with.
