2005 Tige 22V blown head gasket with 370 hrs

In south Texas upholstery runs more. I was quoted 2500 multiple times to restitch the fabric on the sunpad and replace a piece on the sunpad for a Tahoe I/O. From the pictures provided there would be around 4-5k in upholstery.

In regards to the engine, did they replace it with a new long block or repair the existing block. If they repaired the existing, is the previous owner certain the condition that caused the blown head gasket was fixed also?

The '05 22i is just got in February was around the same price with a brand new trailer, upgraded engine, PP and rather minor blemishes. Granted it is not as popular as the 22v which I took into consideration.

I would seriously consider a 30000$ boat in good to great condition that has been looked after, cause that is what you will be into this when you get it to the way you want. Just food for thought, I would take higher hours and well looked after as opposed to lower and left out in the open or used in salt. For me salt is a no deal. My buddy bought a malibu from texas used in salt or brackish and was looked after fairly well, but it took its toll.

I say don't walk away, run away and never look back. Never been in salt? BS. That poor boat has been in salt it's whole life.

I'd be willing to bet the salt ate a hole through the head gasket. He had the oil changed. Mechanic said, "You've got water in your oil. Probably just a blown head gasket. I can fix it." It ain't fixed. Right now the alkali which, IIRC, starts to solidify at 170 degrees, is eating a hole through the water jackets to the oil galleys. It also destroying everything it touches. Not just the internals of the motor. The wiring, the vinyl, plastic, rubber, stitching, nuts and bolts, everything. Look at the gel coat. Look at the vdrive mounts. Look at hazing on the gauge faces. That poor boat is toast.

I live 30min from a lake that does the same exact thing to boats. While its fed by Lake Tahoe, the natural hot springs that feed into it as well are super high in mineral content. You can spot boats that are regulars there and never taken care of a mile away. They look just like the one in the pictures. Bad news.
