Well they estimated the 9th as a completion day, I think they hit it right on. Sucks that it is a rainy day, oh well, I have my chance to get her wet real soon.

Let me know when you take possession of her. She looks great!! Perhaps we can get together this spring and put both our boats on the water with a few friends. I'm almost done with my winter upgrades. I'll be ready in the next week or two. Hopefully the weather stays warm.

Classic colors. Very sharp looking boat!

Seriously, if I dropped that much coin on a brand new boat, I'd want to take the time off of work and just live in a cheap motel nearby, visiting the factory every day it was on the line, walking alongside to see every step of the process. Might even tweak a few things along the way. ("Saaaaay, could we mount that handhold just a bit aft? Thanks!")

that would be so cool to follow the building of your boat! That way if later on you wanted to work on anything you know where every hose, pump, wire, and cable is. Congrats!!
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

Yep, and I'd take lots and lots of photos. Especially of the stuff that's hidden once the deck and hull are joined. There's been lots of times that I wish I had X-ray vision and could see between those two.

Mark Gibbs at Boatmate trailers is also hooking us up with a trailer to go along with our new Z1. We reviewed a lot of options during boat show and I ended up telling him to just surprise me. I gave him free reign to use his imagination and creativity to create a nice matching trailer to support our new baby. Excited to see what he will come up with.

Boat factories smell like generic fiberglass shops. It hits you as soon as you open the door of your car in the parking lot. There is a bit of a change when you are in the upholstery area thanks to the fabric, but otherwise the 'glass smell permeates everything.

I'm saying this as a guy who visited a large number of boat manufacturers last spring and summer.

As Enzo Ferrari once put it about his cars: The engine makes all the music you should need. On a boat, the laughter and shouting and conversation with your passengers is the music.

Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm the oddball on this topic. I love music - it's what got me into analog electronics in the first place as a kid - but the social interaction of and with my passengers is what I prefer on a boat. And I don't like having to shout over the music, or strain to hear the shouting of other people. If you're going to listen to music, do that! If you're going to talk, do that! But trying to do both at the same time makes both less enjoyable. There's a reason you're not supposed to talk at a concert or the theater.

No need to flame me, I know I'm alone in this opinion. And that's OK.

Off topic I know, but I agree 100%. After having 2 boats with tower speakers our next boat will not. If we buy used and the boat has they, they will be removed. See, you are not alone. We have had more fun laughing in our no frills 15' Whaler because my daughter, wife and I are just hanging out enjoying the experience together.

I agree about not listening to music and enjoying the laughter. It's also nice to have the option to crank the music when your out with the boys every now and then!
