I'm assuming the 1 piece versions would be better since there are no clamps to worry about coming loose, but what about the T vs. Y? It looks like the Y would put the outlet deeper into the water by a little bit. Could this be bad for the wave? Anybody have experience with either of these models that might know of some pros or cons for each version??
I believe Larry developed the "Y" because in theory the exhaust should flow more freely than the "T" design. There is a "Z" measure that you will measure that will determine how deep the pipe goes into the water. Typically, this measure is what's off if you wave if affected by the FAE. Its a simple adjustment that Larry will help you with to ensure your wave is the same as without the fae.

FWIW, I have the original FAE. It's very long. Much longer than the new ones. The bottom tip is in line with the center of the prop shaft. Larry said he would cut it down for me if I just sent it to him but I've never had a problem with my wave. It's probably effecting it but it's been on there so long that I have no idea what it would be like without it. It's not like I can't surf it. So if the Y sticks down a tick further that the T, I wouldn't worry about it.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I got my FAE last year with the raving reviews of everyone here to get it. Worked with Larry to get what I needed, and haven't had an issue since install. I will say I have come across at least half a dozen Tige owners at the launch ramps that have stopped me and asked what the He!! that thing is hanging off the back of the boat. I simply explain and refer them here and to Larry, but Nicky has a great point how many people search random problems through google find their answer here but never actually join? We see the views climbing but the votes don't show the results.

DP Powell-Thought you were done with upgrades this yea?r...Just Call Mike and order the ballast I wont tell Pam.

In the group buy thread killerbren brought up that he just bought a new version that attaches via the taps plate bolts... I've never seen or heard of this and can't seem to find it on their web page.. I see the fixed trim tab mount, but that's not the same. Anybody here have/seen/heard of this.. I'm assuming it does away with the uprights to the swim platform?
