So your boat had the Surf level ballast and the dealer upgraded the 350 lb sacs to the Fly High W005?

After reading back through the PMs we exchanged, lets talk more about the passive draining. Right after filling the ballast, is the wave good, then degrades after a few sets?

When I fill everything up, my surf wave is just OK. Nothing compared to what I'm seeing from other rz2's. I'm able to throw the role in but the pocket is small and not a lot of push. As the bags passively drain, the wave gets worse and eventually the surfer falls back.

I still want to order the check valves from you.

Best success I've had with ballast setup is full left(1100 lbs), full front (400), partial rear right, and taps around 2-3. Anything more I have 0 push (taps)
You are looking for a smaller gap, not a greater gap. If anything 2.5" sounds pretty good. Look at mine (above). It is far more than that.

Take the brackets to a machine shop and have them cut down to the angle you want and weld back together. I have done that with several sets. Works perfect. Cost me about $150 per set. Done deal. Shred your face off!

well my boat is the 2nd one we did and I didn't use anyones required measurements nor did I take my brackets to a machine shop, if you have the tools in your garage its easy but then again im a fabricator and I wont ever pay someone else to do a job I can do better. if you want it done right the first time you do it yourself. that's how we roll.

Angle is measured from the bottom of the boat hull. Bigger the number, the closer it is to the swim deck.

Does anyone know what AVx 8 equals in degrees? Or any of the other fixed Vx angles?

The RZ2 absolutely needs the revised brackets. Mine was originally shipped with the shallow angle set, and they killed the wake. The replacement brackets were provided via the dealer, and are a definite enhancement over no VX, and a massive improvement over the performance with the original brackets.

In my opinion, this is on the dealer. If 100% of your money worked for them, I'd say 100% of the VX they sold you should work too. The original brackets are not an acceptable solution on the RZ2 ... period.
