    Tige Options

Ok, I wanted to get some opinions of what you think are good and bad options for the Tige. I am not a serious boarder or wake surfer so ballast is out for now.

    Items I want
    SS package
    SS rub Rail
    Speed Control
    Tower and Bimini
    Cover
    Table
    Wind screen
    Bow cushion
    Locking rear hatches

    Items I wonder about

Upgraded engine (360 or 380 not sure which one is offered)
    Docking Lights
    Shower
    Upgraded wheels on extreme trailer

What items should the dealer throw in?
    Coast Guard Saftey equipment
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

additional options I put on my 24ve:

Heater - My wife and kids love the heater

Rollers on the back of trailer

    Speakers on the tower

Make sure you get 10' bimini

So I agree with everything in the items I want list except the windscreen. I do not have one and have never had a need for one. It might be good if you boat in cooler weather which we do not have on Havasu.

Extended Bimini is a must. Keeps the wife happy!!

The 340 horse moves my 24V good. I have not had a need for more power but next week is the first week using ballast so I might change this opinion.

Shower - never used or had one so no opinion. If I got another Tige would not order it since I have never had a need for it.

Like the bling of upgraded wheels on the trailer but I would not pay to upgrade. I am into function over bling factor. Just me!! Don't upgrade the trailer wheels but upgrade the stereo. No substitute for good music.

Coast guard kit definately should be thrown in by the dealer.
      Let it be!!!

my two cents= docking lights look cool but i would get the nav. lights on the side as well i dont like the bubble light on top of the bow. 340hp/syncrotec should do just fine. shower-never really found a need for it. i also would leave trailer as is and spend the money on better audio. ever thought about a transom remote? you guys like this option yes or no?

I think the windscreen will come in handy during the winter. We spend New Years on the river and make trips from Needles to Havasu and the wind block will be great.

It is too hot for a heater, even in the winter.

The stereo will be a big dog item. I am not sure if I am going to have my dealer do it or a shop. Unless the dealer cuts me a huge deal I will have an outside shop do it.

I like bling, but my guess is the money can be spent better places like a bigger bimini or stereo vs Wheels.

Good call on the prop gaurd rollers, I almost forgot about them.

I am going with an Alpine HU and even though I can us a PAC controler to work the HU I am not sure if I am going to get the transom remote or not. The sony remotes tend to break too often and I would rather have reliablity vs convenience in this case.

Okay - I will agree with the windsceen. I always forget about the passengers. Since I am the driver I am pretty well protected but I remember my mom being blown away in the winter sitting in the middle rear seat. Windscreen would have come in handy.

For what it is worth, we used the wind screen this winter and it was nice. But now that it is gone, the rails are getting pretty beat by the seat cushion from the bow. My wife tends to move it back several inches so she can get to the cup holders up there and in the process has put a nice dent in the rails...so it goes.

As with the others, I am a big fan of having a mid life crisis with your stereo. We are really enjoying having all the speakers and power...it's been fun.

The heater proved to be a nice option as well this winter...worked well. The kids would put the hose right down the front of their wet suits to warm up. The shower was a winter option as well...They would fill their wet suits with warm water right before jumping in...

For what it is worth, I wouldn't mess with the docking lights...

                Good luck...wrangler

Instead of a windscreen, you may consider getting a taneau (sic) cover. I've got one and it comes in handy, not only to block wind, but it's a good place for the kids to hide when we get caught in the occasional rainstorm.

I agree with the others, trailer bling is nice, but definitely unnecessary.

Kko definately hit the nail on the head w/ the docking lights. USELESS. I ordered them and I think it was the most worthless option I added. They give you no light what so ever. I guess if your trailering at night, they do help a bit there. But your cab light and brake lights do more than them...lol.

As for the transom remote it has it's good and bad. I'll explain. I tend to go out w/ alot of friends. Usually 12-14. Well when your the boarder and want to sit on the platform and get your gear on, it's nice to be able to put on what you want. Same goes if your sitting in a party cove area... you can do what you need w/o getting into the boat. The problems comes if you have friends sitting at the back of the boat while you have a rider. My friends have a tendency of trying to crank the music right as I'm trying to talk to my rider. If they are drunk... well... then the problem multiplies...lol. I wish they had a button for the driver to override the back remote and shut it off. Kind of like w/ cars and the switch to deactivate the other windows.

I saw "So. Cal" below your avatar, and immediately thought "Needles." Last time I was out there (couple years ago), it was 127 degrees. yikes. I'm from Texas, and thats too hot for my blood! In this case, DEFINITELY get the windscreen. I distinctly remember driving my uncle's boat, and putting my hand in the wind above the windshield- the wind actually hurt! Definitely opt for the windscreen!

Also, you most definitely know how cold the water is near needles marina (dont you just LOVE that current when you're trying to get into the lagoon near the bridge? ) and above Topac. Speaking of Topac gourge- WOW!!!
Anyways, the cold part of the shower would be ideal for hosing off your seats, and hot items (read: PEOPLE!!) in the boat.

Also, a bimini is a must-have out there. Can you get air conditioning?

Wish air conditioning was an option. We carry 4 of the water blasters (Big squirt guns) to cool the seats and passengers. Way cheaper than the shower. Definately as you go upriver the water gets cooler.

The water is "cold" from Oct-April from May-Sept it is refreshing!

It gets hot out there esp this year. It has been over 115 every trip since late May. I love the dry heat. The shower would be nice for cooling the seats off. I am going with and all white interior with some color splashes. Anything else but white get too hot. I have white with a bunch of blue vinyl right now and we all know the don't touch the blue rule in our boat (it is smoking hot).

The Topac gorge is something everyone should get to experience. It is awesome. Just do it on a weekday. Saturdays in the gorge is run by big, fast, boats and it is rough as hell in there. The sandbar is a great pit stop for "scenery" alone.

We don't do enough boating at night. That is mainly because we don't have a pontoon anymore to float on at night. My guess is we will end up floating more at night with the Tige and the room the Tige has. Still not sure a platform transom light will be worth the money.
