    CWB Keg any good?

So I might have the chance to snag a brand new CWB Keg 5'4" for under $200....Right now I have a LF Fish 5'3"

Would this board be a step up from the Fish? I can go ropeless with the fish but looking for something a bit faster to progress on?

If I remember correctly the Keg is one of CWB's entry level boards. Its gonna be very comparable to the Fish. Not really a step up. I had a Tsunami and it was slow. I think the Tsunami is a step up from the Keg.

Just read some reviews and Boardman74 is about spot on, they both have basically the same reviews as far as entry level boards comparable to each other in almost every way. The biggest difference really will be the fin configuration as its 3 with LF and 4 with CWB you may be able to run more of a "thruster" set-up with CWB and pull some speed out of it as its shaped more like the thruster. The LF will be more stable (less slippery) when transition up and down the wave, and would make a great "boat board" for new surfers of any size if you chose the CWB. The CWB will be a little faster, little more slippery depending on fin setup, and should be able to move edge to edge a little a faster as I believe its narrower than the LF. Especially since your dropping some length on the CWB you may notice you can control it much better then the bigger LF. That's my 2 cents, I would say do it especially at that price, if you don't like you could easily flip it at profit.

So for discussions sake, say I keep the LF Fish as the "boat board"....What would be a logical step up from the Fish?

I'm 6'2" I fluctuate between 200-210 pds....I'm not ready to lay down the cash for a $600+ board though...there has to be a decent step up without spending that kinda cash right?

I am similar in Size, and ride a Ronix Parks Carbin Thruster 5-1 which is intermediate/advanced level board and I love it. You can find them now for $450ish. It's a surf style board, super rediculous fast, very edgy, and with the right fins can spin and air out if you want to start moving forward with progressing that way.
