Yes, yes, yes yes!!!! I agree. My 2004 22V is for sale and I'm (hopefully) going to be shopping for a new ride early next year. Ballast will be a huge factor in my decision. Right now, CC220 is at the TOP of the list. However, if Tige were to change it's marketing and put ballast standard in the new Rider's Edition boats, I'd have to think a bit harder. And it needs to be at least 950 pounds.

I'm sure glad I have a good dealer who helped me design my own rider's edition. We worked out the details and ordered the extra equipment to coincide with the delivery of the new boat.
Once it all came in, he installed the Rival Ballast with about 1500 lbs, the HU / 3 AMPs, Capacitor, 6.5's, sub, NVS addictions. He even worked to get the trailer custom chopped to fit under my garage door.
I wish Tige' would go ahead and do alot of these things. But to be quite honest, I think there are some things that are better than oem, and can be done cheaper.

As for the ballast option- more is always better, but I find it interesting that the Xstar only has 850lbs as well. Still, I've seen a lot of Xstars loaded with people and additional bags.
So, what I'd like to see is this:
"Riders Unlimited" - ballast, a graphics package, high end tower speakers, kickin' stereo (noticed the RZ2 has a 12" Solo-baric... nice!), a distinguishable tower, some sort of distinguishable interior... maybe even colors, etc. Maybe even a factory satellite radio? All as a package deal. Overall margins can be reduced, as the overall combined package will be a larger upsell. This would be the "bling" package- with increased demand generated by the package itself and a unique tower.
"Riders Core" - Ballast, similar graphics, mid-grade tower speakers (i.e. the same as above, with maybe 2 instead of 4 speakers), decent stereo, etc. This would be set at a lower price point, as it would include less of the "bling" options. In fact, this could be marketed as a "wakeboard purist" boat. Maybe even base a "purist" boat off the 20v to push the package. Seriously- if Tigé successfully targeted the SAN 210 for 20k less, these things would sell like hotcakes! ... but thats another subject entirely.
"Limited" - Basically what you get today, but distinguish it with different interior, colors, and limited style graphics.
"Unlimited"- Similar to the Limited package, but with additional things like heater, shower, corian table, etc. All the "foo foo" stuff that the older generation like. This would be marketed against the maristar line.
Also, speed control should be standard on every boat that goes off the line. I find myself using Perf Pass, even when cruising around the lake- its just one less thing to have to worry about.
Oh... and PLEASE give us a horn that doesnt sound like a vespa!!!Freude am Fahren.

I only have to disagree with the CC 220 as a BIG boat. I have a friend that had one. I felt the wake with his ballast full was about the same as my 24V unballasted. Less storage. Did not feel nearly as big as a 24V, maybe close to a 22V. You could never complain about the fit and finish, though.Be excellent to one another.

Another Item I was thinking about today was something all boats should have. Include a nice watertight storage box for all of your electronics and valubles. Make it so it is integrated into the glove box so you can lock it up. With cell phones, I-pods, cameras, video cameras, etc.... you end up bringing a few grand of extra stuff. I know a standard glove box does this but that way when you are getting on and off the boat or like me walking out from the beach to my boat you have some added security. Plus with little ones you might find your I-pod walking out of glove box and end up in the water. I was wakeboarding and I look up and my almost 2 year old son is throwing our sun screen off of the boat while my wife is driving. I am glad he didn't find anything of value to throw.
How about a keyless ignition system like the nautiques? No more keys to worry about. It would have been nice if on the RZ2 they hinged the middle of the seat to open up instead of one little cut out. They could have built in some small trays for sunscreen or boat cleaning products. Just some thoughts.
Ok here is a far reach but I though it would be cool and functional. Some sort of pressure sensor in the ski pylon and wake pylon that will messure the pressure of the rope. If it drops to a certain level an automatic flag pops up. When pressure from the rope is pressent the flag goes down. Toggle switch for ski or wake or off is up front. How nice would that be! No observer necessary. Rear view mirror plus a light indicator when the pressure is off the pylon.

BTW, my glovebox locks with my ignition key. Of course, the only thing of value in there usually are the koozies, so I don't really use it much.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."
