I agree wholeheartedly that the 2 stroke machines are more fun than the newer 4 strokes.. I was told they started switching over to 4 four stroke due to growing regulations and concerns for noise/emissions... Blah blah blah.. Before you buy anything you should try to ride both type and get a feel for their pluses and minuses. I have a friend with a new 3 person sea doo 4 stroke that he claims to have had over 100 mph with 2 people on it. The newer skis for sure have some speed, but the 2 strokes are a ton quicker, if that makes sense. Like IDBoating said, the old XP is where it's at performance and handling wise. The marina owner where I used to keep my old tige back in the early 2000's was into racing skis, the late 90's XP was his bike of choice. Race sponsons, performance intake prop, exhaust, moto x style handle bars, and a twist throttle.. Watched him do things on that ski that I didnt know were possible.

2000 20 ci. Ozarks. We have a 2004 Yamaha XL800 ( I think that's the model.) Two cycle, no problems at all. Goes fast enough. Yamaha has been very dependable for us. My 16 year old son wants a stand up model.. I tell him, get a job. M&M

Here is my two cents. I have a stand up Kawasaki 650 and loved it I've had it for years and years and in fact over 20 years. Still runs out and really fast and a lot of fun. I have twice bought a pair of sit down seados and jet skis. But in the end sold them out each time because the stand up was a whole lot more fun. That's something to think about when you want to have fun and through things around. The stand up is way more manuverable, you can do all kinds of tricks and a lot more fun in the end but that's my two cents. There is a reason why I sold 4 sit downs and kept the stand up all these years. Plus you can find stand ups real cheap. You will not get bored with the stand up and the challenge it takes to ride.
