Wow!! How does that work? Must be some massive pumps to make the water move, but how are do they actually form that wave? Looks like some cable park owners are gonna need to step up

Basically an underwater ram/plow being pulled thru the water I believe...

Best write-up I have found- looks to be a patent infringement problem tho with http://www.boardsportsource.com/#!/a...r-wave-company

              I would in a heartbeat.

When I was a teenager I rode waves on the first man made wave spot. It was in Phoenix AZ. and called Big Surf. The wave was controllable and had different shapes with fine tuning. It was a lot of fun then and probably even more fun today.

It is, but much different than the traditional wave pools where a ram travels through the water and creates turbulence inbehind. This is several rotating and collapsible excavator buckets on a continuous loops around the wave area rather than the entire pool. It is a revolutionary concept that has more patents than you can shake a stick at. The machinery was designed and patented at a our sister company here in Canada. I didn't have the pleasure to work on that design crew but everything I was privy to blew my mind!

The scary thing is that this wave can be made MUCH MUCH larger with limited design changes... triple overhead standing waves....A Reality....

That article was over a year ago. This project was under development 10 years ago... Im sure there is more to the story... In addition do you see any Webber wave pools around? There are lots of miniature demonstrations but I haven't seen any real test parks being built nor funded.....

http://www.webberwavepools.com/engineering/ good info. Not sure if a internet chatroom is going to decide the fate of this, but you can try. I don't care who's first, as long as they build one close to me. FWIW, a patent just tells others how not to do it, and still get it done. Might be an Edison/Tesla kind of battle, both geniuses in their field.
