Need Help Installing ConvexVX

I purchased my VX from the dealer right after I took delivery of my 2012 Z3. IT came with new swim platform, the VX and all new brackets for transom, swim platform and the VX itself. The new swim platform was a couple inches wider on each side to match up to the VX. I didn't need the new brackets on the transom as they are were the exact same as what it came with from the factory.

I measured my top of my vx on the corners to the bottom of the platform and its 1.5 inches. That's the angle I set mine to on my rz2 and also a buds z3 both have pro ballast with 1400lb Enzo's and also my taps plate and the wave is massive. I hope this helps but if it were me I wouldn't hesitate to do it simply due to the fact of all the surf time lost trying to make it better at the stock location.also since it's not mounted up yet it be a breeze.

Did you adjust the angle of the vx or the distance between the vx and the platform?

When I dug up this old pic I had the same exact thought. The angle of the Vx comes from the bracket on the Vx itself. From what I see you have the newer brackets so you are fine.

You basically just need some stainless bolts.

See what the dealer wants. If it is absurd we can do some measuring.

So spoke to the dealer. For some strange reason they won't sell you just the swim platform brackets. Such crap. So looks like I'll be on my own to get the proper measurements and gets the holes drilled and install this. With that said was hoping you or someone else on here would be willing to create some kind of cardboard template of their brackets with exact hole locations on preferably on a Z1 but also a Z3 as I think it won't matter. Willing to pay for your time and shipping. I think it would be easier than trying to discuss measurements unless we did it over a phone call or FaceTime to make sure we are both measuring everything exactly the same. Open to all ideas and help, just want to get this this installed.

Any chance of making a trade with the person you bought the VX from? Trade them your non Vx brackets for their VX brackets?

I would help but my boat is at the dealer. I'm not sure when it will be back. Can someone else help?

I adjusted the angle of the vx and left the platform alone. I really don't see the benefit of trying to get the brackets. the ones you have will work fine id drill em if they were mine and use my existing hardware. il try and get some pics taking of how I did mine and that should help.

What dealership are you dealing with? I called Tige direct and talked to my dealer and both told me the vx isn't being made therefore can no longer be purchased. I've been looking for one for a while now.

He didn't buy it from a dealer it was a private party there's a few people on here selling the vx's.

I can get my hands on another. I bought mine from my buddy who had 2 VXs he needed to get rid of. Brand brand new, but it comes with the VX only. No swim step brackets or new swim step. I have a post about it in the classifieds. Assuming I can get this bracket situation figured out for cheap it'll be a smoking deal! Let me know if your interested.
