    Need Help Installing ConvexVX

I just purchased a ConvexVX for my 2013 Z1. Got the VX yesterday and want to install it but seem to be confused on how it bolts up to the existing brackets on the swim step. Can anyone with a VX snap some up close photos on how your VX bolts up on either a Z1 or Z3? All pics/info are appreciated!

Did you get the VX brackets that go on the swim step? If not you may be out of luck as the VX equipped boats have different swim step brackets than the non VX boats.

If ur gonna mount that up Id increase the angle of the vx instead of stock I did it on my boat and it was well worth the change but I also fabed up a custom taps plate as well and the combination together is sweet.image.jpg

Like Dandy said. You require new brackets on the platform itself. Where did you buy the Vx? The previous owner must still have them.

Thanks for all the replies! So I called the dealer bracket pricing is on its way. But curious to know, what's the difference with the brackets? Looking at this picture it seems that other than the new holes they look identical? Is the angel on them different? Assuming it's just the holes why couldn't I just get one of you to be friendly enough to make me a template of your brackets with some cardboard and just drill my own holes?

When I dug up this old pic I had the same exact thought. The angle of the Vx comes from the bracket on the Vx itself. From what I see you have the newer brackets so you are fine.

You basically just need some stainless bolts.

See what the dealer wants. If it is absurd we can do some measuring.

did you buy just the VX or the entire platform/VX assembly? I think this setup even requires new transom brackets, IIRC

I will keep you posted on dealer pricing. As you mentioned if it's crazy and your willing to help maybe we will just create a template that I can use and run some
Measurements and I'll drill my own holes. Thanks for your replies and willing to be helpful I'll keep you posted!

As you will see in the picture I bought the VX itself which came mounted with the correct Angeles VX brackets. It seems as if all I need to either buy it figure out is just the swim step brackets because I don't have the holes in mine needed to bolt up the VX. Which transom brackets are you referring to? Maybe I'm missing something?

Pardon my confusion, but i see two pics. One looks like the bottom view of a platform and the other looks like a VX. I did not want to assume thats what I was seeing, nor assume what pieces you had actually purchased. Im not sure having the correct angled brackets on the VX means anything, when I think you what you need is a matched set platform and VX with the proper bracket on both sides.

I hope im wrong, but i never understood the VX to be a plug-n-play add-on to an existing platform. I thought Tige sold the VX as a complete assembly, which included a new platform and both had specific mounting brackets.

Transom brackets as in the brackets bolted to the transom that the AVX/platform assembly drops into. Dont know if they are unique to the VX/platform and different from those on a boat without the VX.

I ended up cutting into my factory ones and re drilling the holes, it looks like you could do that with ur existing brackets.

Hmm... Interesting? Can anyone confirm on that? As far as I was told the swim step wasn't any different on boys with the VX compress to non VX boats. I figured the VX was just a bolt on addition that the dealer slapped on to the existing swim steps just bolting them right up to the swim step bracket. Anyone know if the swim step is any different? And if so, does it make a difference for the VX? The existing bracelets I have on the VX line up directly with the brackets I have on the swim step. The only thing I am missing is the holes for the bolts on the swim step brackets.

the holes furthest back from the boat. after you get it loosely mounted up I cut 2 inches into the platform bracket and set the tail of the vx up closer to the platform and kept trimming the front to match the back of the boat as you can see in my above pic. I am at 4" roughly from bottom of platform to top of the vx, il get that exact measurement this weekend for you.
