I'm extra cautious, so it took me a little longer, and I didn't have loctite or a sharp hacksaw blade for the 1st round. I measured everything about 6 times and the actual install took a total of about 3 hrs (not including the trip to Lowe's) . I also didn't use powertools.
The install is easy, but some of the instructions were fuzzy. It said to refer to some pics that weren't included. So I did a search on the web and came up with the same instructions with some old pics. Apparently referring to older equipment that Larry used on his previous models, that was irrelelvant to this install.
The quality exceeded what I was expecting, and looks very durable, so it should last. I hope to get out on the water this weekend to test.
I've got several pics of the install, but haven't had a chance to resize them.

As for the wake, it's about the same width as your rudder and sits right behind it, so it really doesn't create much additional turbulence. There's some spray if you have an older swim platform that's not solid, but other than that, you only notice it's there because your boat is ultra quiet.
I think the reaction most folks have once they put it on is they couldn't imagine not having it on after that.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

I noticed a little reduction in rudder.... effect, if you will, at slower speeds (idling around). It takes 1/2 a second longer for the boat to react. No big deal. the stearing at speed is a little heavier, but once again, no big deal. Wakes seem to uneffected at any speed. I'm pretty pleased with it and can't imagine not having one now.Last edited by NICKYPOO; 08-17-2006, 04:45 PM.You'll get your chance, smart guy.
