    Indian Lake, OH

    Anybody been to this lake?

We have been trying to locate lakes in Ohio that are good for wake/surf that also have fun camping sites and Indian Lake looks like they might have some at the state park campground. I'm a little concerned though that their lake depth is only 3'-12' according to their lake map....I'm used to boating at Buck or Ceasars Creek which can get 75'+ easy.....

Ideally I would like to just be able to park the boat in front of our campsite for the night but not sure if there are many spots in Ohio to do this.....anyone from the Midwest have suggestions (Lake Norris is 2 yrs down the line )

3-12' is going to be super frustrating for surf.

We took our boat up to Indian a couple of years ago and it's super choppy and very busy. IMO this is a great pontoon boat lake, not so much for the wakesports. For reference, my opinion of Ceasars is about the same (choppy and busy). Our best bet had been Buck Creek due to its more open nature versus the channels of Ceasars, but Buck can also get pretty choppy at times. Sorry to say it but Ohio lakes are just not that great. I have heard some people like Brookville but I don't have any experience. I've also heard some people enjoy the Ohio River. We have upgraded to Cumberland and aren't looking back as we keep our boat down there now. Good luck!

I boat and camp at Salt Fork lake in Cambridge, OH. I am able to leave my Z1 hooked up to my Dodge Ram 2500 4 door and back it in at the campsite. The campground is super clean and the lake is large and deep. I surf there almost every weekend in the summer. The lake sits in the valley and is blocked from alot of wind.

It is also a very deep lake, so no issues with shallow water in the ski zones.

Try Brookville Lake, IN. Indian Lake is terrible for watersports.

Indian Lake is a shallow pontoon lake. Do not waste your time.

Take a day off from work during the week (even days only) and try Eastwood Lake in Dayton. It is an old 2 mile gravel pit. You will have the lake practically to yourself. Like any lake, forget the weekend for calm water.

Yeah man I've grown up at the hydro bowl...great lake for sure..I was looking more for a long weekend camping possibility...preferably with my boat tired up right at the campsite or decent marina on site to keep the boat in the water the entire time...
