That wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit. So long as nobody got hurt.

Sorry dont have much patience for jet skiers on our lake, they tend to think our slalom course was designed for them?!?!?! They even have the balls to try to run it when we are skiing it. It has left me with the opinion that they should be outlawed!!!

Ok, I empathize with your situation, but just because those guys are morons doesn't make all jet skiers that way. Just think about those guys who's $60k ski boats are beached. It's the operator, not the vehicle that's being operated.

We also taught our kids to ski and wakeboard behind a jetski when they were 3 and 4 years old. Let me tell you, it's a lot less intimidating for them and a lot safer. Jetskis can be a lot of fun without annoying everyone around you.

Trouble with Jet Skis is that they are easy to rent.

To me a Jet Ski is a motorcycle and my boat is a nice car.

I have seen plenty of absolute morons running 100,000 and up boats on Havi.

Yeah, no one makes you take an IQ test when buying a water toy. Personally, I think boater's safety classes ought to be mandatory. US Power Squadrons has a really good one where you learn more than just the minimum.

We had a guy take off out of Hurst Harbor on Lake Travis a number of years ago in a Cigarette boat like a bat (sorry, NICKYPOO) out of hell at night and slammed right into a rock wall. What a mess.

As for Dogberts suggestion, I have to admit that I think it is a good one... I took the local Coast Guard Aux. class and while it was a little light in content, it was worth the time and effort to be a safer boater.

I like whenever someone on a Wakeboarding/Skiing site mentions Jet ski, they have to put in the "I am a courteous user of the Jet ski" Comment.

I find if funny because I know a lot of Towboat owners who have jet skis, and they are certainly not the type to cause problems. They will even scold their kids if the catch them doing somthing stupid (or even the suspicion).

I get nervous when I see a hot boat pull in the cove being followed by the 30 something dude on the jet ski.

Well, our lake patrol guys (it's a combination of agencies) are pretty hard on jet skis if they are not courteous and I have no trouble reporting any person who's driving like a moron to the authorities if they don't back off when I ask them to. We've had far too many accidents where people have been seriously injured or killed.

All our kids know the drill and know that they will be grounded from their water toys if they are caught driving irresponsibly. It's kind of eerie when your kids start yelling at the other drivers to back off...makes you realize that once in a while they do listen to their parents.

This happened to me about 5 years ago.

One of my best friends brought his jetski down for the weekend and I was riding on the back of it with his GF driving. She had ridden the thing numerous times before.

My buddy has done so much work on this machine, tons of power add-ons and stuff, and he is totally anal about it. He even keeps the card to his fiberglass guy in his truck, so if you scratch it, he hands you the card.

                                He's that serious about it.

So anyway we're coming into the slip and the GF is driving along, and I'm looking at this boat that is passing by (hot chicks man, hot chicks!) and I turn around and realize she's coming into the slip a little hot.

That's when she says (ok, where's reverse). This seadoo doesn't have a reverse! She's been on the thing way more times that me, and doesn't know it has no reverse!. So anyway, I make a superman dive to the dock, where I sort of jump to the dock with my feet still hanging on to the Seadoo (cause she split the 10' wide slip perfectly ) Trying to slow it down and keep her from ramming the front of the slip.

I see my buddies face just drop as she's steaming towards him, and it looks like he's gonna puke! Anyway, I get the thing slowed down enough to keep it from running up the dock, but she gets freaked out by us acting so nervous and she hits the throttle pretty hard.

My buddy has tried to catch the nose of this thing with his feet..he's sitting on the dock at this point, and before he knows it, he has a bright yellow seadoo in his lap.

Whereupon he has to wait while I swim to the dock, and help him get it off his lap! AND help his GF off the seadoo * not in that order*

He was so mad, he didn't talk to her for a week! I didn't stop laughing for a week.

                                No fiberglass damage though
