Too early to worry about specifics, no much interest other than that already stated or people don't know how to respond?

I realize you asked us to respond via PM or email, but I wanted to chime in here as well- hope it doesnt ruffle any feathers... I think this is an OUTSTANDING idea, and would be more than willing to host as many veterans as we can fit on our boat. I would also be willing to assist with any logisitics!

X2!!!!!^^^^^^^ Bad, DP, H20Sk8er, EWOK, myself, we understand what this means more than most. I am with DP that I don't want to step on anyone's toes as TallTige and others started this and we (among many others) helped carry this forward into what we see today. We have a great community and even better people, and I think that we owe it to the WFW and the vets to include them in our reunion. I offer my boat, my boards, my gear, whatever is needed to ensure that as many vets as possible get a ride. I only hope this thread is quiet because its only January.

We just grabbed a lake view room. Thursday through Sunday. My family is pretty excited as this is our first time.
Would someone mind giving me a quick run down of what to expect while we are there? Do we eat at the cafe or is it better to bring our own food? Do we all hang out together or does everyone do their own thing? What is there to do when we aren't on the water? Is this a good place for my kids (5, 10, 11) or is it mostly an adult party?
                  Thanks.

Well, a good time with fellow Tige owners. We usually have Tige corporate representation there, and a dealer with a new demo boat or two. We also have one night where we do one large group dinner and a raffle for boat related prizes. Lastly, a great time on the water with many people switching between boats just for a different wave or ride.

Totally up to you. I believe the room you have will have a small fridge... but that's it. There is a small cafe with decent food and reasonable prices, and many of us just eat there.

Again, totally up to you. A few people show up and do their own thing on the water the whole time, and we just see them occasionally during the meals or at the dock. Others enjoy meeting up here and there and switching riders. That really helps if you have one boat set up goofy, and one set up regular.

Eat, drink, and play cornhole? If it's anything like last year, you wont want to leave the water. It was 6 straight days of glass... ALL DAY!

I'll leave this question for the others, as my kids are adults. But, my opinion - this is definitely a family friendly event.
                    Thanks.

What to expect.......a great freaking time with awesome people.
The Lake View Rooms are nice, and there is trailer parking either down by the dock approx. 1.5 miles or in front of your room if you choose. Its a bit of a walk down to the water most people just drive, until the "usually suspects" take the midnight walk down the docks for a evening cruise and surf session. The resort is pretty well quiet come September and I believe last year we rented the whole resort for reunion, but there are signs that say no BBQ in front of the rooms, but my hunch is that is pretty relaxed since a few of us had our BBQ's out the whole weekend and no one said a thing. As far as food goes, the marina café has good food and its decently priced considering. I eat breakfast in marina most mornings, and will BBQ for dinner (chicken, brats, Asada) don't worry about dinner Saturday night as that is the night of the event, lunch is 50/50 sometimes I cook, sometimes I just go to the café for a quick bite and back out on the water. During the day we all kinda bounce between boats, swap boards, whatever you want to do, I can tell you that if I am headed out and you or the kids need a pull hop in. Evenings are very relaxed, either H20sk8er or myself will have corn hole, horseshoes, and BoatWakes has a fun frisby drinking game that he usually brings. The kids will have a great time, there are usually at least 5-7 other kids there. There is some additional information about the resort itself you may want to know, there is on/off water fueling available, there is a small store but its VERY VERY limited so bring whatever you will need for the duration of the trip, the closest "Store" is at least 40 miles away. They do have boat slips and they are pretty well maintained, but i would have fenders if you don't already have some, the slips are pretty narrow. and short 19-20' slips. If I missed anything i am sure that someone else will chime in. Glad to hear you are going to make it.

Between you and D&P, I think you pretty much covered it!

@ UNSTUCK - are you bringing your own boat? That's about the biggest variable each year.

I am bringing my boat. With any luck my "TAPS 21" will be installed and functional so it will be fun to compare to a proper taps 3 boat. It should be good for either regular or goofy by hitting a switch, but most of us ride goofy.

My wife's sisters family will be joining us there as well. That will make 8 in my boat assuming we are always together. My boat is always open to anyone that wants to tag along though.

                            Can't wait!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it already. Hopefully we'll be able to stay longer this year. We had a blast in the short time we were there last year!!
