Maybe you misunderstood. When I said it was painted, I meant painted at the factory. The burnt paint is just that, burnt. You can see one of the stickers on top of the cat is burnt almost black. It would be awesome for someone one here to pick this boat up. I'd love to find out what actually happened and how bad it really is.

I would only take it if I was given it for free and had no access to another boat. Even in that case, I would have a hard time going very far from the marina.
I trust Boatwakes opinion on this one, considering he is a boat mechanic and would be helping to chase down problems for years to come. I am sure he has seen boats like this before.Be excellent to one another.

Thanks Larry. Yes, a word to those who want this boat: plan on replacing EVERYTHING electrical. Stingreh sent me the link and I'm looking at it for a diesel re-power (finally!!!) but would not even think about anything above $5k and that's even pushing it that high. Salvaged sunk boats are a nightmare if you go cheap and the $15k price tag isn't even in the same state from where it should be. If we refurbished this boat for a customer it would cost about $50-$60k on the light side using the same engine and gears.
BTW, the orange color on the manifold is an overheat from lack of raw water flow. That unit houses the cat back system (a nightmare in its own right) and is not touchable when operating even though its raw water encapsulated so that bastard had to get REALLY hot. There are 4 O2 sensors on that motor and each one is $200. The motor is rebuildable but would need new cats, a new wire harness and relays and all new sensors. Price it out if you've got time. Ill buy it to re-power but am gonna start at a $2500 offer.Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

Diesel re-power huh?? Please tell me there's gonna be a build thread for this. You thinkin Duramax? Seems like the guy that owns dmaxstore.com put one in an x-star a few years ago. He posted a couple of videos on duramaxforum.com that I ran across one time. I love it

If it was just burnt paint then after all these boats left the showroom everyone would have brown manifolds.
It says it took on water the most common thing that happens if you take on enough water faster enough the bilge won't be fast enough and the water will get on the crank pully and bye bye belt. on a pcm the boat will keep running with no cooling system as the raw water pump is belt driven a min or so later and brown cats!Last edited by 91Terminator; 11-20-2015, 03:47 AM.FairTax.org

I'd try an figure out how high the water went so you know how much electrical needs to be repaired.
Snap-out carpet is gone so that might be a clue.
What are those white speaker caps? Nothing on the tower either. Did they sell these w/o a speaker system
Trailer is worth a couple thousand by itself.
That seat cushion makes me want to cry.

A tige can be ordered stereo-delete, so yes, it is possible to get with with no in-boat ro tower speakers. But, Ive never known tige to cut the speaker holes on a stereo-delete order, but some manufactures due. It is possible that someone cobbed the speakers and replaced with those white blanks. It does look that this boat, if it had any stereo, was only the base level four in-boats and head-unit.
