2015 tige RZ2 good for surfing

Hoping to get into the tige family here soon. I've been trying to get some reviews of the 2015 RZ2. Anybody out there have one with the surf wake upgrade. How's the wave. Been talking to the dealer and he is going to install the taps 3 as well. But after we buy it.

The RZ hull has not changes since it was released in 07 and is one of the best surf hull out there. Now having said that, I have not seen that hull with a TAPS-3 system. I think the one main advantage is that the TAPS-3 is going to give you the quick-change side to side ability.

What ballast option does the boat have now?

on our lake we have about 10 Malibu's, 2 MC and I've got longest and largest wave hands down with my '14 RZ2. I've also taken out the Tige bags and added the aftermarket RZ2 bags from Mike's Liquid Audio + I've added a new prop and cross over pumps top speed up the transfer of water but waiting 4 minutes for the best wave is peanuts to me.........

With our r20 we are about the same as you being on our lake with all older malibus and the r20 performs way better then any of the others. Except for one who has totally upgraded ballast and has his boat full of sacs and sand in the hull making there no room for people, and the little inboard looks like it's sinking.

You guys are getting me amped up about tige. Going to demo a rz2 with stock ballast tomorrow. Going to bring along two fat sacs and then if all goes well going to grab a 2015 rZ2 with 2600lb ballast and the taps 3.

I surfed a 2016 RZ2 with TAPS3 a few weeks ago and when listed, the wave is identical to my '07. When running full ballast and using the TAPS3, the height is knocked down some and the face isn't as steep but it had a nice long pocket and it was a nice, fun wave. I think you will like it. The nice thing is if you want a bigger wave, dump most of the water from the opposite side rear and run it listed and you will add close to a foot of height to it. The downside is that the rubrail on the surf side will pretty much be touching the water (even with the stock ballast).

My 08 RZ2 throws a nice wake I just need to figure out how to lengthen it out, already has a nice height and curl.
