    Need help.... Removing tower

I purchased a 2004 22v a couple months ago and I'm putting new tower speakers on. So, I get the speaker wire ran through the main part of the tower and then went to feed it through the small section of the tower that's part of the base plate and to my surprise, no hole was drilled through the fiberglass under the base plate on the port side and the hole on the starboard side is just big enough for the navigation light wires. Ok, I'll take the tower off and drill a hole. Or, not. The two allen head bolts that hold the rear of the tower to the boat will not budge. I'm afraid I might break the bolts. I've used pb blaster, wd40. I've also tapped on the head of the bolt for a minute or so to help the penetrating oil work its way where it needs to be. Still no luck. I'm looking for suggestions.

    Thanks - Shaun

Got a pic of the tower? Im wondering if those bolts are nutted on the under side?

I didn't look like there was a nut. It looks like a thread plate is fiberglassed in.

may be a little risky, but you could use the bolts and existing hole on the stbd side to locate where you need to drill on the port side and drill from the bottom up.

I guess I'll just wrench on them an see what happens. Worse case scenario I break all four bolts. At least the tower will be off and I'll be able to drill out the bolts.

Just take the one back leg off and it will move enough for you to drill into the boat.
