    Hairline Crack 2015 R20

Waxing the boat today and found a 3" hairline crack in the gel coat. It's on the starboard side of the transom above the rub rail. I have 11 hours on this boat, bought it brand new less than a month ago. Needless to say I have babied the hell out of it (I am OCD with this thing) and have never done anything that would result in a crack like this.
I have sent an email to my dealer and am waiting to hear back. I have also scoured the forums and it sounds like this happened a few times to some 2014's and previous year models. It also is looking like I am probably S.O.L from the previous posts! Has anyone been taken care of by Tige or their dealer with a similar issue?
11 hours, less than a month old... So bummed.

It is a stress crack they are frustrating but certainly do not affect the integrity of the boat. You've read a lot of post about people not being taken care of but there are just as many including myself that have been. I've always read post online carefully as it is easier for people to talk about their issues/complaints rather than all the good. I am sure it will get taken care of and it will all work out have faith in your dealer!

If you have a good dealer..they should take care of that...

Mind you they will have to replace the seadeck pad above that as well.

Pretty common. Cracks like that are the result of "flexing" the top cap out to to get it to line up with the bottom during the manufacturing process. Pretty common. Saw a number of boats with cracks like that above and below the rub rail.

Who had boats that were obviously under the 1 year mark that did not have gel coat issues taken care of? I seem to recall some guys beyond the 1 year mark that had issues, and Tige had every right to deny those claims. IIRC, gelcoat is still covered 100% in year 1, right?

I love to hear when dealers step up to take care of customers, always makes me feel comfortable to call the dealer first before I call some other company for service/repair.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

Good to hear Bjax. Glad they are taking care of you. I am one of the ones that had issues with cracks in the first year that they would not fix them. Instead they blamed me and said that I must have hit something. I read the email chain between the dealer and Tige and I believe the dealer did what he could to try and get them covered. At the end of the day Tige just said no we are not going to fix it.

Was the location or pattern of the cracks something that would lead them to believe such?
