Debating hitting up Pineview next weekend but seems the water temp is about the same.
What is the situation with Deer Creek and the mussels? Wouldn't you have to decontaminate and a bunch of garbage if you now switch lakes? Down here, it is supposed to be a month this time of year before you are declared clean.

Pretty sure someone ratted us out, as no sane lake patrolman would be out there for no reason like that.
Been there, done that. I called the office after I got the ticket and explained that the purpose of an observer is to help the driver know if other traffic is coming, which of course this time of year is none. I told the secretary I wanted to contest the ticket (I know, that argument probably would not hold water). She said 'let me speak to the judge', and held the phone away from her ear for 1.5 seconds and came back saying 'send us half the cost and we will call it good'. Saved me $80 just by making the call.
Be excellent to one another.

Its a secret Chad, don't tell.

I was a Deer Creek for a bit on Friday as well. It is probably our last trip of the season but the water was pretty good. My temp gauge told me 61 degree water.

Why a ticket for no observer? I think in NM and TX as long as you have a mirror larger than 4 sq inches or something you don't need an observer! I'd take that ticket to court and use some other state laws to educate the judge to change it.

I went out on Thursday during my lunch break to try out a new RZ2 with TAPS3. I trunked it but had a rash guard on as a little bit of insulation. Air temp was 59, water was 65 I think. It was 80 and 85 degrees here the days before. Colorado is a weird place, we could have 2' of snow this time of year or 85 degrees. Heck, it was 89 degrees last weekend.

Looks like there is enough Utah Tige owners on here to have our own little get together sometime.

Lots of states have mirror laws that make perfect sense, including my state of South Dakota. However, Iowa, where my lake cabin is, has an observer rule.

I am just going to part with my $90 and call it good. I knew the rule, and chose to break it. I figured no one was out on the lake so what difference does it make, but clearly some jerk felt the need to rat me out. Oh well!

Just crazy some of the state laws! I rarely have more then my wife and I on the boat when surfing. We do have a mirror law and they occasionally pull ppl over on our lake for not having them but will usually write a warning. Kinda like the helmet law some states have with motorcycles. Too many damn laws

I am thinking of picking up one of his boards he has laying around or possibly build me a new beast in the off season. My buddy Anthony picked up his last personal board he built that was too small lol...

I'll let him know, I don't think he has any laying around anymore either. He's making me another new one this winter too. I know Anthony was pretty happy with the red board, he rode very well considering the choppy water we were on.

I'm not sure, in the summer you have to wait a week before going into another lake or use a professional service to decontaminate, but this late in the year they may make you wait longer, since this is the only lake I'm planning on being at I haven't paid close attention, this Sunday is supposed to be 69, might be the last run of the season unless I get a dry suit!
