Soooo....Who is still out. Best water of the year here in Colorado. Water is still warm enough to trunk it in the afternoon and the air is a pleasant 79-80 degrees.....and there is nobody except a couple of fishermen out here.
This was the view from our bow last weekend...85 degrees, water was mid 60's, and nobody on the lake (Empire Reservoir outside Denver). We're packing up the boat now to head back out. :-)
Bakes5, that does not exactly look like trunking it. Especially when your guy is wearing a neoprene hoodie.
I've already worn my drysuit in the morning, cuz 72 degree water does not feel that warm when it is only 65 degrees outside! So don't think I'm being critical. I anticipate I will go every month of the winter as long as the weather cooperates.
I'm quite confused. I've been to Colorado and Utah but only to snowboard, it's October and you guys are still boating? Here in Western Maryland it's been snowing off and on for two days and we have been busting out butts to get all the boats winterized.
We trunk it in the AFTERNOON. Still use wet and dry suits in the morning.
The pic of me jumping off the cliff in trunks was taken the same time as the guy in the 5/4/3 neoprene hooded suit. BTW, those suits are super warm/dry and dirt cheap at wetsuit warehouse.
The wetsuits were total overkill but get people who don't boat much on the lake.
Great to see folks are still hitting it. I'm going until thanksgiving this year.

The summer here is kind of a zoo unless on a private lake. Sept and Oct are the best months of the year by far.
We were at Pineview on Friday afternoon. Water was 62-64. A bit cold, but we had an awesome time with VERY calm water.
Deer Creek!! And for Deer Creek the water was surprisingly calm! Hopefully we'll get a few more warm days to still get out, plus I have my wetsuit if I get desperate!
Debating hitting up Pineview next weekend but seems the water temp is about the same.
Water was 60, Air was 50, and the only lake traffic was people running boats to the storage houses and boat ramps. Oh and a water patrol that gave us a ticket for no observer.......LOL-- CRAP! I could not get 2 friends to go in the cold--only one. Wimps!
