Anybody know if the factory will give out paint codes/formulas for the current colors? Or does anybody on here have them? I'm looking to upgrade the exterior of my '03 22i from its current yellow stripe, into something a little more modern.. I like the electric blue, wife likes the sublime... What about the bass boat style sparkle I'm starting to see on wake boats? It's really starting to grow on me.. Can that sparkle flake be added into any of these colors, or is it only in certain colors?

You would need to come up with your own custom paint colors that would depend on what brand paint your painter uses. Some can be done metal flake. I doubt the factory gel codes would translate into automotive paint. I would suggest a 2 stage base coat/clear coat for changing the color/scheme of a boat hull.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Aluminum towers and speaker pods are powder coated, ABS pods are likely painted with an automotive grade paint. Yes, there is a color code for the Spectrum gel coat colors tige uses. Problem is, you could not walk then into your local ppg or dupont automotive paint store and have them mix you up a qrt based on that code. You would have to match the Tige gel color to the automotive paint color and then use that code.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Gotcha.. So theoretically I can buy this, mix it up, let it cure, and walk into a PPG store and have their machine match it and give me a code right?

I've been impressed with every pic/vid I've seen of your work.. Wish I lived closer. There just doesn't seem to be anybody around Table Rock that does custom boat work. I think a couple of the car audio places in Springfield MO will put speakers in your boat if you ask, but that's just not the same thing..

Chris, did your matched color turn out pretty good? Any chance you remember or have written down somewhere the base/clear color name or code? I don't have a sublime colored boat anywhere around to try to match color samples. I'm guessing trying to match to a printed picture wouldn't work out the same due to print variations or something..

Folks, remember that if you can come up with a sample of any color (example: carry in a speaker pod), most dedicated paint stores can optically scan it and match the color. You don't need the formula, they will derive a formula based on their own pigments right on the spot.
I don't know if anyone has a similar system for gelcoat, I'm not a glass guy. But you cannot possibly be the first person to want to match an existing gelcoat color so I bet someone has resolved this problem....

Here's what I just got back from tige in case anybody else is interested:
Hi Bryan,
We just heard back from the vendor who paints our towers for us and the
automotive paint code for the Electric Blue is CG683 IF- code:8867 & CG649
IF for the Sublime.
Thank you,

So.. dont I see three different number sets in there? Anybody know what the "code:8867" would refer to?
