Marine Power G Force Filter Change

How often are you changing your Marine Power G force fuel filter/water separator? I have been replacing every fall but wondering if it's necessary to change this often. It's kind of a pain to change. I do run regular gas station up to 10% ethanol fuel but I add Marine Stabil every time I fuel up.

Also, do you need to add fuel to the canister before you install the new filter. I didn't do this last time and is seemed to work ok.

Bummer that it's winterizing season already.

I change mine annually just so I know that's good but I do mine at the start of the season as I don't want a good clean filter sitting all winter rather have the "dirty" one sit for the winter same with my impeller I change at the start of the season. My winterization is drain plugs to drain the water, put the plugs back in, fill with Marine Antifreeze. Change all the fluids, full tank of gas with stabil, mothballs in all the compartments to keep the critters out.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"
