Just found out that we'll be relocating to the LA area from Colorado. Would be great to have a few contacts in the area.

Excellent! What areas are you looking for houses in?

Right now all around Riverside as that is where the plant is that I'm going to be managing. I'm interested in any advice or suggestions about the area. Looking all the way from Lake Arrowhead to Canyon City to potential get on some water.

Canyon Lake would be a great choice. There are very few places to go boating at all, so that would be your best bet for sure. They do have a boat length restriction, but your R20 should be good to go.

TeamAllen is right, Canyon Lake would be a nice choice if you could find a home there you like. We almost bought there last year, but found a better home in Murrieta, so we passed. Canyon Lake is a private gated community with a small private lake. The boat length restriction is 21' or smaller. Either way, you still may find yourself making the long trek (4-5 hours) to the Colorado River (Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, Lake Havasu, Parker) like many of the rest us living in Southern California. So much more to do out there, and a great weekend get-away. Good luck on your search.

Canyon Lake is closed last I heard something about the city owes the state a bunch of money for water. The full story is on the net. I will get you and invite out Cashman.

Thegerman618, the lake is not closed. There are a few ongoing legal negotiations underway, but it's not closed. The bigger political issue in Canyon Lake right now is their break from CalFire and the creation of their own fire department.
