    FAE = Fresh Air Exhaust

    I've got one on my boat and I know several other members who wakesurf do as well (do a search on either FAE or Fresh Air Exhaust).

            Even if you don't wakesurf, the FAE is awesome. The difference is huge. As much as I love the sound of a healthy V8, I don't miss it at all. You'll be amazed how much better you feel at the end of the day when your not breathing CO all day. When I do eventually by a new boat, the first thing I'm putting on it will be the FAE.
            You'll get your chance, smart guy.

              We are not having any problems surfing behind our 22V with stock exhaust. We can smell it at times but are not suffering from headaches or nausea and we feel just fine at the end of the day except for body aches caused by nasty crashes on our wakeboards.
              If we had children and they wanted to surf then I would definately install a FAE.

                    I surfed my Tige for four seasons without it just fine. Then I put one on and realized how much of a problem it is. You can tell yourself that your boat is just fine the way it is all day long, but once you put an FAE on it you won't believe the difference. I've never heard one person who has an FAE say,"Eh, it's alright I guess. I didn't really notice a difference." Everyone who has one loves it for a reason, they work. Seriously dudes, it's one of the best things I've ever done to my boat.

                      Hey, if you don't believe us, go check out the Coast Guard study they did on the FAE system. NICKYPOO's right, you can't smell CO. When we surf, we tend to do it for hours at a time. Not sure if you read the warning from Tige about teak surfing...well, when you're wakesurfing, you're only a few feet back and the wake shape will push the exhaust right up into your face.

                      But, if you don't wanna do it for safety reasons, then how about being able to hear your stereo sooooo much better.

                      I'm not sure I'm seeing a downside to this equation. It's less than the cost of a new board (or about 3 tankfuls of gas).

                      Let me ask you this, would you skitch a ride right behind a car's exhaust on a skateboard?

                            Dogbert,

                            nice pic of the FAE. It seemed like I read the installation instructions and it talks about the steel rods attaching to the swim platform. Maybe i misrecall the instructions? Is it an illusion in the pic, or do yours attach onto the transom?

                            I wondered how I would install it with a fiberglass platform and if it could stand the stress of the water flow down there.

                            You've never torn yours off?

                              Look at the photos from whitlock87 in the attached post. He has the fiberglass platform. it appears he mounted the Fresh air exhaust to the swim platform brakets.

                              I am going to look at my boat this weekend to see if my platform is similar

                                Thanks!!!

                                It looks like they rigged a metal bar between the supports on the swimstep to attach the vertical supports to. I DEFINITELY smell a winter project coming on here.
