so i was out just riding on my boat (2005 switch I) 130 hours.
I was pulling someone, and when I backed off the throttle the eingine stopped. I tried to restart it, but I was unable to get any sound or anything out of the ignition. Now all the other electric worked, bilge, audio, lights, but not the ignition. So we sit around for about 10 minutes, playing with the battery switch and everything, well 10 minutes later, it started again, and didnt have a problem for the rest of the session.
Later that night, coming back from the restaurant, were about 1/4 mile from where we left, same problem, but I was at WOT, and the engine shut off, well this time I was pissed, and my passengers were scared of there lives, a storm came out of now where, lightning and evevrything, 4 ft waves, 50 mile an hour winds, it was bad. we all huddled underneat our boards to try to stay dry. BTW this is on the patuxent river in MD. so were all grabbing our life vests thinking the worst. Well another 10 minutes or so went by and it started again.
rode all day yesterday didnt have a problem. check the starter, its fine, what would cause this?
After that ordeal i am not a very happy camper. being caught out in the middle of the river on a open boat during a major storm is not cool. thankfully noone got hurt and the boat made it back. Im just very upset since this is my first boat and I have had many problems with her in 3 months.
thanks, and sorry for the long rant
