I have owned nothing but Tige's for the last 10 years and have been very, very happy with them. Bought a new 21i last weekend. Never been stranded on the lake for a mechanical problem that was the boats fault. Gas...battery...raw water pump.... all my fault, not the boats. My new 21i with 3 hours on it left us floating in the middle of the lake. Fly by wire throttle and speed control died. Now I am starting to question Tiges quality control. I have had a lot of time to go through the boat and have found a lot things...
- burnt out convenience light
- bezel on radio remote fell off
- tweeter fell out
- bad rattle behind throttle due to broken screws
- found backing plate and lock nut for a cleat behind the battery box (glad I didnt tie it up)
- carpet on trailier bunks worn through to the wood... wonder now if it is a new trailer (only launched twice)
- broken winch on trailer
- bent bow eye (probably happened same time as the winch from cranking too hard)
- boat wont run
- bi-polar gas gauge
Some of this is little stuff or not totally tige like the trailer. But the cleat and the throttle scare me. What other hidden things are wrong?? The service manager said evey boat they sold with speedset has come back with problems. The dealer is getting their chance to make it right but I have serious doubts about the quality of the boat. It was great for the couple hours it ran. At least we still have our old Tige' so the wife and kids wont kill me for buying a broken boat. Enough venting for now.
