Nonstop *beep beep beep* from tach..

Pulled into a cove today and it just stated beeping. Farina commander series tach with the air and water temp setting as well as some funky fuel flow/level settings. If I hold down the menu button it will stop, but as soon as I release it, it beeps more. I've been all over the Faria site and read the manual for this gauge. I've reset all the settings, even the hours by accident (crap)... Anyways, any body ever run into this and know what's going on?

Nah.. Depth is on the speedo side. That side will beep at the same time while pushing the menu button on the speedo. So I've narrowed it to the tach side. Now that it's getting a little darker out I can tell that the lights are on in the tach. Normally you have to turn on the nav switch and push the up and down arrows together (making the beep noise) to turn he lights on, and then pushing them together a couple more times will brighten the display. Now, with the key on, my tach will stay lit, at brightest setting, regardless of whether the nav switch is on. It's making me think something inside the tach has gone nuts and is making the tach think I'm constantly trying to brighten display. That's gotta be a Faria rebuild right?

        Same thing

Bryan - I've just started experiencing the same thing. A one point in order to make the beeping stop I could turn on the Nav Lights and it would stop. That trick no longer works. I've just started to research and would love to see what you are able to figure out as I am more than willing to share any info I find out as well.

Well, I was able to use the boat today by unplugging the 4 wire plug on the back of the tach, in turn killing all power to the guage. We're probly about done for the season here anyways so I guess I'm gonna be pulling it out and sending it off to Faria to be repaired. According to their website they're about 8 weeks out on repairs and it's a $225 bill plus shipping. I'm at a loss as to any other options...

Bryan - I've been reading quite a bit on this site and it looks as though others have had this same issue. One resolution was extremely simple. There was a post on here that said they were having the same issue we are experiencing and he discovered that one of the up or down buttons was stuck in the pushed in position which was causing the beeping. He said he stuck a screwdriver into the rubber part of the button and the issue was resolved. If it is something that simple it may be worth a try before spending $225.

I saw that post too... I've checked my buttons and everything seems normal. They both work for cycling through the menus. I would think I would have to be pushing the button in for it to stick. Mine started doing it randomly.. Thanks for the heads up though

Bryan did they ever tell you what was up with this when you sent it in? Mine started to do it as well and I can't figure out what is going on either. Appears to be cycling fine as well so I don't think I have a de-pressed button situation.

Ya man, sorry I forgot to update this thread. It turned out as I messed with it into the evening, it got darker and I realized the gauge light was on and wouldn't turn off regardless of nav/anchor switch. As you know, when you push the up and down arrows together it beeps and dims or brightens the guage lights. Well apparently something in this circuit went haywire. I could cycle through everything just fine too, but the lighting circuit would not adjust.. It thought I was constantly trying to brighten the guage and that was the constant beep.. I called Faria and they said it was fixable and to send it in and expect it back in a few weeks. The next week I got a brand new tach in the mail.. Exact match to my other blue gauges.. No more beep
