I don't think the EB would be a good fit in a boat. In this application, the engine would be on boost all the time. You might not see any issues in the first couple of years, but I think repair costs would go up exponentially after that. (I maintain a mixed fleet of around 400 pickups-Ford & Chevy)

I'm not saying it isn't a good engine in a pickup, but part of the appeal is that there is only around 25 HP needed to maintain highway speed unless you are loaded down. How many F-150's are pulling max weight all the time? Part of why you have yet to see the EB offered in an F-250.

Better dash than MCs $50K all day. The plate below the touch screen with the switches does seem a bit hokey. All on all if they are at $63 MSRP and still have dealer margin to give a little they will kill it in the sales Dept. Hell, MSRP is less than I had paid for my 2013 Z1 and I thought I got a pretty sweet deal. Granted our next boat will have NO tower speakers so that will shave some cost.

While I am personally a fan of analog gauges, this dash is reminiscent of the G dash with the offset screen (even though this one is noticeably smaller).

Overall, if I were shopping for a new boat today this would merit serious consideration. I think they do quite well if that pricing is accurate.

maybe it's the old school in me, but I want gauges on a dash. that is horrid imo, but with the focus on technology and how prolific smartphones-products are in our life, I applaud tige for something that I think relates well to that technology. just still cant think of the expense to repair down the road.

With the Murphy system, TAPS 3 control and zero off they NEEDED the screen. So the cost savings was to delete the gauges.

I'm with the majority here. I think it's ugly and I'd prefer to at least have basic gauges along with the touch screen like other boats. Atleast a second screen so that boat/ engine vitals can be displayed while you have the radio, ballast, depth, or cruise screen on the other.

If you like gauges, you can check out Gekko...looks like they have a new dash this year...not saying it is pretty.

I actually like that dash. Very similar to the Moomba's.

Oddly, after my divorce I've been rocking a Gekko this summer I picked up cheap!! Has been trouble free and done what we asked of it. No way would I buy a new one though!!

I would not be so concerned with today's boating electronics if replacements would be in a realistic realm of replacement. betting that small screen is a 3k part, but it's really nothing more than a $200 display. paying for r&d.

This is why it would be great if they could somehow set up the boats so that you could interface an iPad or similar tablet with an app that would work as the display/control. Just a docking station. You could also then have your tunes loaded on that device. I believe that WA/IDBoating is working towards something like this. I am sure the manufactures would not like it as there would be some margin lost and to a point they lose control...just think if you had things set up for the old iPad and now the new ones have a different connector - would the boat be dead in the water or could an adapter be used. I guess this all leads back to the simplicity of Switches and Gauges - Supreme might be onto something!

I like simplicity, the new R21 dash is perfect. Gauges and screens are like belts and suspenders.

I remember everyone complaining about how the screens are going to break, cost a lot to fix after warranty, etc. I have not seen over 5 owners complaining of screen failures in the last 3 years. Way more engine/transmissions then screen issues.
With every boat manufacturer putting screens in their boats the cost of screens has to have dropped drastically.
Let's say Tige introduces the AutoWake/WakeTouch system, are you all going to complain that you like to manually control the list/roll of your boat because the semicircular canals in your ear are extremely sensitive and you know when the boat is listing the proper degree. Or I get the best wave when the rub rail is exactly 2.6 inches from the water...

In our 15 Z3 and our 08 RZ2 all I used the gauges for was RPM and that was just out of curiosity. With cruise control you set it and forget it. Then you throttle as soft or hard as needed based on the skill level of the person riding.

That new Bryant wake tractor has exactly what you are talking about. Uses a tablet as the screen supposedly.
