I have accon bimini hinge brackets image.jpgwhich attach to my tubular uprights on my tower (older metcraft Evolution tower) . The #10 screws used to fasten the brackets keep stripping out because of the stress put on the brackets when Bimini is up (chop/wind/etc). I need to figure out better way to fasten. There is not much grip because of the thickness (or lack thereof) of the tower tubes. Any thoughts?

Will next size up screw fit (1/4) in the bracket? If so tap to increase threads on tower. Maybe drill the hole in the bracket too but don't if narrows the wall too much as now the bracket will break before pulling screw out. Also add some locktite to screws.
