I'm at a loss for this flame arrestor

I had posted earlier that under my engine cover was just a piece of wire mesh over the air intake. As seen in the photo below. So I look up the part numbers for my motor and order the ring that goes over the airtake that flame arrestor fits on to. Parts arrive and not even close! As you can see in the photo the four bolts around the intake are in a rectangular pattern. The part that came is a square pattern.

Not only that, but I just can't see how I'm going to get an arrestor on there. If I add even 2 inches in height the cover will stick up too high and the locker doors will hit it!

I cannot find my air intake on in any parts manual online. My boat was a "special edition" in 2008 and came with a motor upgrade from the stock 315hp to 360hp. Obviously I am not ordering parts for the right motor or the air intake set up is different. My hood definitely says MarinePower GM Vortec.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated!

I would try to call Discount Inboard Marine (skidim.com) a call and see if they can source the part for you.

Although the 360 was an optional upgrade from the base engine, I don't think there was anything special about it. Im not so sure the 340 and 360 are not the same engine on the outside, thus having the same throttle body and flame arrester.

No I have not. I'll have to try and track down the number I can call.

Yep - that is the part I ordered for $35.50 and the flame arrestor cost me $40+. They are both not the right parts. That mount has the bolts in almost a perfect square pattern. My throttle body has screws in a rectangular shape.

I sent an email to Marine Power and a guy emailed me back right away asking for motor serial number so hopefully they can tell which parts I need.

Well men. Lesson learned. Ordered wrong parts and cost me return ship plus 20% restock fee. Contacted MarinePower directly and they sent me proper arrestor absolutely free including shipping to Canada.

I finally have proper arrestor!
