Thanks Onetogofast. This is a new product wee launched in January and uses Pepper mint oils and other non toxic ingredients to get spiders to move on...

Ski Dock in Austin said the protectant you polish on after a wax is really good too so I bought both and the boat gets cleaned this weekend so I can get it on there. Don't remember what it was called.

I believe they sold you Big Kahuna Polymer Sealant. This 4 month, in our TX environment, synthetic sealant seals gel coat porosity making everything from water spots to spider poop easier to clean off. For maximum impact of this product it is best used on a new or like new surface.

I use a spider misting system on my dock which is loaded with a eco-friendly mint/orange concentrate that I buy from my exterminator. I pressure wash the dock down in the spring and bomb (3-4 gallons) the hell out of it with Ortho home defense and then let the misting system work the rest of the year and I still have a ton of spiders. Ugh.

I've been thinking about another take on this. My boat lives on an electric lift that runs on 2 batteries and is solar charged, so I don't have regular 'power' on my dock, but I'm curious about incorporating some kind of ultrasonic bug repellent rather than using chemicals or sprays. Most of these ultrasonic things just plug into the wall and you're done, but I'm trying to find a way to get a few of these units under the cover of my boat to keep spiders away (the LOVE making webs all over my cover, in my board racks, in the folds of my rolled up bimini ... it's nasty to unzip the bimini and have all these massive spiders falling all over your head). So I guess I'm looking for a power source of some kind for these ultrasonic bug repellents ... and in a perfect world i could recharge it with the 12v while I'm on the water, but I realize that might be asking a lot. Any ideas or thoughts on this?
