    "RZ2" Shop and Water demo

Well, Tige' brought the "RZ2" to the Slalom Shop this last Tuesday. I just can't say enough about this boat. I think they have a real jewel here. We had a dealer and factory rep. walk-through on the boat before we hit the water. This is what came of it...

The boat looks GREAT!, the lines are amazing.

The interior is cleaner, and has new foam for the seats and a new vinyl.

Storage is awesome, they have opened up the "under seat storage" SO MUCH

There are double hinges on two of the seats, STURDY!!!

The cooler is right behind the driver seat, and it is sized and shaped much better.

The driver's seat is AWESOME; it has a gas shock to raise and lower, it has a bolster, the mesh is great (it really keeps you cooler), but there is a spot that rubs a little (they are fixing that before production).

The dash is vinyl covered, open and very readable; five inch gauges, see-able LED screens....

    True "throttle by wire".

I am now a Tige' "Speed Set" freak, I hope I never have to touch another Perfect Pass in my life. It is so so so so so much more consistent, reliable, and accurate then any other speed holding system I have used. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS NEWER "SPEED SET", and it has a great LED read-out screen in the middle of the dash. PERFECTION!!!

The two bow seat backs have shocks on them so they stay up, and they have a slight angle to them so they make the front seat comfortable. Big and easy access to the storage.

I am 5'9" and I stretched out in the front. With the bow filler seat in or out, there is so much room. Oh yeah, this is a 22' boat.

The "V" drive storage is HUGE; and yes, the doors open straight up and are lockable.

The tower was still being worked on, so it was not on it, but I can say this; It's Got Some Big Feet. I think that will be better for stiffness and hull strenght.

We hit the water and it was all grins and "MAN, WHEN DO WE GET OURS"?!?!?! It handles better than the Ve' IMO.... It out handles the X-boats hands down, and I have driven all except the X-80 yatch... The turns are tighter, it turns so easy and solid, and with just 8 people, the wake was BIG, CLEAN, AND WELL SHAPED. I can't wait to see what the factory 900 or so ballast with people will do to that wake. Two tanks in the back, and bow sack under the bow seats. The way they will do the rear tanks is so smart in placement and space-saving. The ballast will not count against the boat capacity which will be 14 in the 22' RZ2.

HERE IS THE BIGGIE, we could not get water to come over the forks. With two poeple in the front (with us all having a go at drowning the people) all we got was some slight splashing on the forks, and dry vinyl. I even stuck them into a surf wake, and a double-up cluster, NADA. I WAS SHOCKED, we even made a REP. pucker up.

The surf wake will give you wet dreams. Check this out. In a cheesy TV voice, "Are you tierd of moving weight in your boat to let the goofy guy surf, have you thrown your back out more times than your wife has thrown you out of bed"??? Well look no further, this boat is the answer for you. Put the wieght the same in the back "V" drive lockers (sacs, led, dumbells from your apt's. wieght room, kids, or whatever), move the people to the left side, and yes you guessed it, SURF.... What?!?! It's time for the goofy guy, no prob. Everybody to the right side. Just adjust the TAPS2 and, yep right again, SURF.... I saw it with my own eyes.

There will be a 24' model released later, the "RZ4" I think.

Tige' will be advertising in a more aggressive way with this new model. Be prepared for some awesome stuff from these guys. There is so much more but I am all typed out. Hope this was helpful.

    John,

Dang I missed it! Anyway Do yall happen to have a boat at the shop still?

When I first saw this boat in R&D a few months ago my first questions where;"Does the bow dip? (infamous on the XStar)" "How does it handle?" and "How is the wake?"

I have also heard from sales reps about the new speed set, I was a little apprehensive when ordering mine but I think you just put my mind at ease.

What does the wake compare to as far as shape, hardness, transition etc?

Cant wait to get mine, Im like a kid waiting for Christmas!

Thanks for the review. BTW, I need to stop by and get the wife and daughter some new jackets.

    Matt

Can you explain how they are installed?

The best part of Jeffro in that pic is what is blocking half of him!

                        Now that's marketing!

Ps. the observer's seat looks nice too.

nope, he's staring at her feet..

                            and he's thinking

Are the V-drive storage compartments comparable to the V or the Ve? I'm worried about that tower...
