I bought a Tige this year because I've heard good things and I really liked what Tige offered. After trading in my Moomba that I had for 7 years with zero issues besides regular maintenance, I have had ONLY 1 outing with my Tige where nothing broke or failed. Is this normal for a boat that costs a ridicules amount??? Its been small issues to fairly concerning issues, electrical to hull and everything in between. I haven't even owned my Tige a year but I'm already looking at other manufactures. Yes it has all been covered under the 360 and the service manager has been great but I can't even enjoy the boat. I know things can happen but its been one thing after another. I love the boat when everything is working correctly but that has barely happened. I'm beyond frustrated and might have to look at a different brand. I'm not sure what to do considering the amount of money invested!

My buddy bought a 2014 SAN G25 loaded with the 550 and has several issues motor and electronic. So it's not just tige but maybe as these boats get more extreme (& expensive) they have more areas for failure.
I have had my 05 22v for a year now and have had issues too that have hindered my lake vacations but mine were do to the previous owners lack of care and maintenance. Just last month I had to get towed to a boat ramp by a POS pontoon. I am sure the guy was having a chuckle while drinking his beer.
I would say stick it out a little longer. My next move will be another used boat (Tige) in hopes all the gremlins are gone and from lessens learned will know what to look for when buying. Good luck and sorry to hear of problems.

Rz22013, If you haven't had your boat for a year, and it's a 2013 with a factory warranty it sounds like you probably got a good deal on a leftover boat. I did the same thing except my boat was only 1 year old when I bought it. My boat had 1.2 hours on it and it obviously sat for a long time without use and that is bad for a boat. I bet your boat sat longer and because of that, boats will tend to have more small problems rear their heads. What kind of problems are you having? They could have been the reason the boat hadn't sold because the problems might have been noticed by other buyers. I'm not blaming you at all for buying a leftover boat, but you have to understand there is a reason the boat is a leftover and also understand that when boats sit they tend to have problems.
I had a 30 item punch list for my dealer when I took it in for the 20 hour break-in oil change. They had the boat for 4 weeks to get the list complete, including some trailer problems I noticed, but they fixed it all under warranty as they are supposed to. Since then my boat has not seen a dealer, I do all my own Mx work and replaced the steering cable too. My steering cable started to get stiff earlier than it should because the boat sat so long unused. I haven't had any major problems that required warranty work since then, it's been 240 hours of trouble free operation. Our leftover boats should not be a representative of the product coming out of the factory, they may have had minor flaws from the factory that we didn't notice, they may have been equipped with or without equipment that most people would want (my boat has no tower speakers). Either way, they sat a while and because of that they will have some minor problems and I view that as the cost of getting a great deal on a great boat. Once you get all your gremlins taken care of, keep up with regular Mx and you'll have many years of trouble free boating.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

The first thing I would say is to go check out the other boat forums, and i mean all of them, not just tow boat forums. You will see owners with these same types of frustrations. In most of the cases, these frequent issues all have one thing in common..................... One sure way to avoid this, dont buy a boat. The next best way to avoid it, do as much research into the dealer, as you do about the boat/brand.
And before anyone brings up layer and lemon law, please go read the states actual lemon law. It a million times easier to suggest it, then qualify for it.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I dont see it being a left over 2013 being an issue, unless. It was a dealer demo (play boat), used a donor boat for other broken boats, rushed through the rigging and never sea trialed when it first hit the lot, which usually leads to it not being sea trialed again prior to custom taking delivery. This often leads to the new owners experiencing a lot f issues in the first season.
Keep on the dealer and get their rep involved if you think theres some communication breakdown between the dealer and the factory.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

my neighbours have 2 newer Malibu's, both broke down last week and are still out of service, 1 with ballast/pump issues and the other, all the electrical went out including their screen and cruise controls, they've now missed the best week of the summer……frustrating yes but in all cases the squeaky wheel gets the grease so be persistent but fair with your request and I hope everything turns out all right. And if not then 110% go to another brand but give them a chance to fix the issues and if they need the boat for a while, demand a demo boat for you to use in the mean time so no lake time is missed +so they can fix everything 100% correct, and do not rush them or you'll be bringing it back again,no company is perfect but if the issues don't get fixed then show them with your wallet.

It's a man made machine, something is bound to go wrong.
The more fancy accessories like ballast pumps, touch screen, heater ect. The more things that can go wrong.
I get how you feel having just bought a new boat and having it not work. Our fuel pump got all messed up in the first 50 hours.

I feel your frustration and like other Tige owners have had my frustrations. I bought a model that sat outside and in their show room for 1 1/2 years and bought it at the end of season at a great price for the 20V and my trade. They stored it inside until scheduled pickup in April which gave them ample time to prep the boat and get it on the trailer purchased. They did a great job prepping the motor and all running gear, customizing the trailer and boat ran perfectly. Unfortunately I had a long list of fit and finish issues from loose vinyl to vinyl not stapled correctly, broken chrome around recessed running lights etc... I was able to get all my issues resolved by constant follow-up and dropping the boat off every Monday for a few weeks until all but 1 issue were resolved by a great dealer. My last issue required me to go up the chain to Tige all the way to the top and Tige stood by their product. If you got a fantastic deal on your 2013 and the items are mechanical and cosmetic get the mechanical addressed and keep following up with your dealer. My brother in-law bought a expensive Maristar Sport off the showroom floor and spent almost two seasons to get his warranty issues resolved. He had motor, electrical and fit and finish issues also on his boat that sat for 2 seasons on the showroom floor. He also had to go to Mastercraft upper management to get a problem with his seat cushions resolved so as others have said it isn't just Tige. Hopefully the discount you got on the 2013 RZ2 was great and next season you will love the boat.
Good LuckLast edited by MoneyPity; 08-12-2015, 08:20 AM.
