Beware of hackers

Had two emails this morning that people tried to hack into my account from 2 different IP addresses. It's a good thing the system sends out emails after 5 failed attempts. Just wanted everyone to be aware that hackers are coming after us on here Be nice if those guys would get a real job.

X2 I had it happen two days ago with a warning. Two different ip addresses also.

What would they do with my TO account? Weird. There would not be any monetary value to that. I am smart enough that my valuable accounts have a different password than the account here (reminder to any who use the same password for everything not to do that).

I guess they could say something to ruin my rep...but I can probably do that muhself. My guess is that it is just other computers roaming around hacking other computers. I was told that a good portion of the traffic on the web is computer to computer nonsense, viruses going around trying to collect information and such.

I believe its for Seach Engine Optimization SPAM. If the websites get links from forums it increases the "legitimacy" of the website and the google bot will bump up the site in search rankings thinking people are legitimately linking to it. I don't think the strategy works that well but I am sure its one of those "buy" links to your website deals.
