    bow carpet

I was out on the lake the other day and went to turn around to pick up the guy i was pulling and i hit a wave and a bunch of water came over the bow. This has happened before, but this time the carpet smells horrible. I've tried using a vacum and trying to suck out all of the water but with no luck. The carpet is still air drying. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the smell out of it?

I have that same problem with the stinky carpet and I use a spray called Odo-ban. It is all natural and does not foam up, it is also a disinfectant. Before I cover the boat I spray it on the carpets and in the compartments. The website is www.odoban.com.

there is some information in the 07 pictures post I think..

What they guys suggested is to let it sit in the sun, and that would kill the stinky bacteria.

My suggestion is to not board in stinky water!!

the water its self doesn't stink but i didn't think anything of it and covered the boat and it wasn't warm enough the next day to dry it out so i think that started the growth of whats every in there.

Ha ha ha, I like to tell myself that!

I didn't figure Spenchy's water was skinky, but you have to put that out there!

BTW, air temp 104, water 91.9 last night. With those temps even T-rock is gonna grow some funky stuff!

Yeah, it was hot here to. I took the afternoon off and headed to Lake Austin. I put in close to the next dam up and the water was about 70 degrees. It was awesome. The wind blowing down the narrow river channel felt good because it got cooled down. It got nuts after 5 or so, but by then we were headed to dinner at Ski Shores. Saw a bunch of Tiges.

Do you think if i let the carpet sit in the rain and let it dry out it would take care of the smell?

It's been my experience that rain is never good for carpet smells. But, you've already cleaned it well, so it shouldn't be to big an issue. I would leave it in the sun for a couple hours and see what that does for you.
