    Taps

Sorry for asking so many ?'s!!!

We wakeboarded tonight our 14 z1 with pro ballast and all full (2000lb's).

Happy with the wake! But.. As soon as we got the taps past 3 or 4 it really started jumping/hopping a lot in the bow?? It was a little choppy out but really bow hoppy. At 2 taps nothing but I thought you should be able to crank the taps up.

Any comments on that would be appreciated!!

    Thanks,
    Dan

Any inboard boat will do that at speeds above say 20 mph if the taps is above a 1-2. You could add ballast or body weight to the bow to help keep the bow from popping like that. Start by adding a little bow weight while watching wave and how the boat is acting and you should be good.

That is the great thing about the Convex V hull, it will make one killer wakeboard wake - not too rampy, perfect lip. But, you have to put more weight in the front that the rear our you will get porpoising. My solution has been to add lead up front. I run 23 w/ TAPS at 5 and it is on the verge of porpoising at all times - front full rears at half.
