I have the Switch V, which is a 20 ft. Supposedly it is the same hull as the 20v, just not quite as plush.
I test drove and rode behind the boat before I bought it. The wake was sufficient for simple flips (back rolls, mexi rolls etc.) but ballast really makes riding much more exciting.
If you are concerned at all about hauling a lot of friends, I've been out with 10 of us in the boat and did not really feel crowded, but then again I had a small closed bow ski boat before where 4 was way too crowded.
But, again, I would look into the Rival Ballast system.

Take it from me a former 2002 20V owner. Get the 22V or above. In 2002 I went in to order the 03 22V. Dealer made me a killer deal on the 02 20V. While it did everything I needed we felt a little cramped and as more people were using the lake just did not handle the way I wanted in chop. I got the infamous 2 footitis. In 05 convinced my wife we were going bigger. Since she did not want me to purchase a new boat in 07, she made me get the 24V skipping the 22. The 24V does everything and more than what I expected. While our normal group of people is 6 we quite frequently have 10-11 people on the boat. Handles rough water excellent, nice wake.
If I bought the 22V back in 02, I most likely would not have my 24V today.

I don't need no stinking friends . My son's wakeboard instructor has had the ballast in both the 22V and his 22VE although with he only uses it when he is pulling for competitions it also helps for balance of the wake depending on who is sitting where and their weight. I did notice that made a difference in keeping the wake clean. Might be a good reason in itself to have the ballast system and of course monster wakes when the need arises. It would be great to hear from more of the 20V owners for sure. I just got off the phone with the dealer who wanted to know about attending a demo day for boards& bindings and he also recommended the 22VE...............well of courseLast edited by Hyper; 07-18-2006, 07:27 PM.

Come on Tige forum members help a guy out who is looking at a possible Tige purchase. I need lots of feedback. Anyway I am back to the lake tomorrow for a couple of weeks. My son has another competition and a 3 day camp. Then off to a Hyperlite Northern Exposure competition in Edmonton Alberta, Provincials and hopefully Nationals. Man lake life is good and I do want another boat; did I mention that before. Thanks again to everyone who has responded; keep it safe.

I don't think I'd short it if I was as close to sold as you are. Make the sacrifice and get a 22Ve. It's truly just about the best all around boat you can get. Your satisfaction with the extra two feet will put two more foot of smile on your face when you roll up to the ramp in your new badass wake machine(read: not a 20ft almost badass wake machine). When I was shopping for a boat, I (my wife) decided to get exactly what I wanted. If your going to do it, do it once and do it right. It's the best purchase I (my wife) have ever made. How many hours per year do you put on your boats; I've been doing about 40 which is pretty good for me. Also I read that the shaft seal on the V-Drives is a royal pain to replace are there any other maintenance items that you find challenging. Is there anything that you need to do on a regular schedule. I know that winterization with my O/B is pretty basic; change the leg oil, treat a tank of fuel, and fog the engine; presto done. How about these inboards. What activity do you do the most with your boats ie wakeboard, ski etc. Do you have a cabin at the lake or do you have to trailer in and out every day and what depth do you usually crusie around in. The lake I'm on is only 10 km long and 1km wide but 190 feet deep, not much for debris other than some dead heads about 20 feet out from shore. I have a 30 foot trailer with a 12x30 edition and 14x13 deck at the back a small sleep shack and my boat has moorage all summer but is taken out when I go away for a few days. Nothing fancy but it is comfortable and affordable and only a 2 minute walk to my boat dock. What boat did you have before moving up to a tige. My wife and I bought a 06 22V over the 22VE.
The reasons why we went for the 22v.
1. $3000.00 less.
2. Way more storage on both sides of the engine at port side and you guys can't argue that.
3. The sundeck has twice the padding that the 22VE has.
4. It's going to be a vintage since the 22 and 24 V are going to be discontinued for 07.
