Gotta take into account that is probably just a base number. Base motor, no stereo, no gas, no gear.

Id say 5760 boat, 400 gas, 1500 trailer, 300 stereo and gear? so... 7960 (which I think is a conservative figure). Doesn't include any additional weight for 575 motor that most people are going to put in it.

Don't get me wrong, I know there are heavy duty tandem axle trailers. Most of my friends own 30ft offshore boats because they like the speed and party aspect and several have tandem axle trailers but the axles and loads their tires will take are far different than any wakeboat trailer if ever seen. I would want the triple... it would bring me piece of mind, but that's just me.

        General rule of thumb:

        * If you tow shorter distances or have more and tighter turns, favor the dual axle.

        * If you tow longer distances, favor the triple axle.

Who cares what it "looks" like, it's just an appliance to get your boat to and from the water. Presumably most folks are thrilled about owning a BOAT and need a trailer for it, not thrilled about owning a TRAILER and need a boat for it.

Any rode behind it? On a wakeboard I mean?

Surfing is paramount but I need to be able to get a wake set in too!

We used it as the tow boat for The Tige Wake Up Comp in Utah last weekend. We had 50 riders in divisions from grom to outlaw. I spoke with a lot of them after they rode and many of them compared it to a G wake or some even said better. The Advanced and Outlaw group received that 2:00 wind and had to deal with some bad chop, but I still heard great things from them.

Tige's own Chase Schuster did awesome in the outlaw division! He could have taken first easy... But he held back some tricks due to the chop..

My question is why have and RZX AND an ASR? Because the ASR doesn't surf very well so they made a whole other boat just like it that surfs? They are so close to the same boat, why not use your resources to make one boat be the king of both surf and wake? Maybe they tried and it just didn't work hull-wise, I'm not sure. It just makes things a little confusing for the consumer.

I still think the ASR is history.

As a practicing Engineer, let me assure you that it's often Very Difficult to make one thing do everything perfectly. Engineering is the science of compromise because everything, EVERYTHING, is a tradeoff. Optimize for one thing and something else suffers. Tweak here and you screw up something over there. It's hard to accept this until you've designed a few products. I find that I criticize other people's designs a lot less now than when I was much younger. Like the OJ Simpson trial, "I wasn't on the jury" and I don't know what boundaries they had imposed upon them when making their design decisions.

I have a huge amount of respect for Tige's people. They're not perfect - nobody is - but given the incredible number of variables and design tradeoffs required to design a wakeboat, as an experienced Engineer I will defer to their judgement.

I think this will be the evolution of the RZ series line of boats, this is pure speculation on my part but I think that ASR name goes away and the RZX becomes the flagship of the RZ line of boats. Again this is just my .

I think you're is probably worth more like $1 in this situation.

I was told today by my dealer the ASR is sticking around for 16. Said this came right from the top of Tige. Take that for whatever it is worth. Wife and I have our eye on the RZX. Our friends bought an ASR for this year and man wakeboarding behind it is KILLER. Surfing behind it is KILLER if there are 5 or less people. More than that and the wave is extremely tough to dial.

If you go back to the late 80s early 90s three event skiing was the big thing and each manufacturers boat was a comprimise at one end or the other , 3 event was slalom , trick and jump skiing, one boat was good at slalom, but not trick, and so on , so yes it would be difficult to make a universally perfect boat at all types of the sports.
