    Cruise Control Question - 20V

Evening all.... I have a 2008 20V and when surfing I will get the oat up to speed, flip the cruise switch, wait a second and then press the set button to lock in the cruise speed. About 1 out of 4 times the cruise once I hit the set button will set at my desired cruise speed but drop the boat speed from 9.5 or whatever I am at to around 5 mph. if the rider holds on the boat will slowly climb back to the cruise speed but it takes a little but. Anyone had this problem in the past ?

My 06 20V had the perfect pass wakeboard pro which I had to recalibrate after I installed the Nautic Laugic NL4-Fc GPS kit for speedometer. I was having issues with the speed surging. What cruise control do you have?

Speed Set is what I think it's called.

I had a similar problem with my 07 20V where it would either surge up and down in speed once set or speed would drop off and then return to speed. We only used speedset for skiing at 25-34mph. What we landed up doing is having Marine Power re-flash the memory in the computer unit which fixed our surging issues.

What do you mean Marine Power re-flash the memory ?

In this case Flashing is a term that essentially means updating the Speedset programming in the computer that sits on top of the Marine Power motor on upper left corner if memory serves me correctly. I would not do it until after the season because it takes awhile for Marine Power to get unit back to you. You have to de-install the unit and send to Marine Power. You may want to talk to your dealer about doing this.
