Need help locating swim deck edging/trim

I have an 08 z1 and the swim deck has an thin aluminum rail that runs around the bottom and is attached with pop rivets. It's is wore out and coming off and causing my ropes to get caught up and cut when they fall between hull and deck. Any way. I'm wanting to change it out and go to the black plastic trim peice that they now use. I just have no idea where to find it. Can anybody help me locate some?

I would think you need something like this.. its just been custom fabricated to fit around that deck.

I JUST Fixed mine myself... I had a rivet gun and All I bought was edge trim for a vehicle. This is the link to the best of my recollection...

I just put that in place and got a drill and drilled the holes in the rubber to match the holes already in the platform. Hope this helps!

This is more what I'm looking for. Not an exact replacement but the closest thing I could find to the factory trim.

Thats the same as the link i sent you. A black rubber trim guard that is U channel and slips over the edge of the glass and you rivot it into place. Just has to be a big enough size because the edge of the fiberglass is much thicker than a car door edge.

DirtNasty, I know this is an old thread, but I am looking for the same solution. Thanks. How much did it run you?

I bought this trim from a local automotive shop for my 09 platform. I removed the old aluminum trim as the rivets were getting loose and it was very nice to begin with. The glue that comes with the U channel isn't strong enough so I added some additional.

Nice. How is it holding up? Does it ever come off or get loose? Thanks.

Coojac - I used some Gorrilla glue in the channel and it hasn't moved whatsoever. Holding strong! Way nicer than factory. The two ends meet in the middle of the platform up against the stern so you don't see the join location at all.
