I understand you still need ballast to displace the water and sink the boat deeper into the water for energy.
You can accomplish the same thing with a fin, or foil, dropped into the water at the transom. The water flowing over it can "pull" the stern down into the water without ballast. Available on multiple brands of boats. I've never used one, though, so I don't know how it compares to a traditionally listed hull.
Love all of this don't get me wrong I'm just wondering why now that putting "Lenco" style trim tabs on a wake specific boat makes the value of them 4x higher than everything else! I remember putting trim tabs on my stepfathers 26 ft boat and paid about $600 bucks for the system! That was 15 yrs ago for a Lenco setup. Time to start playing the lottery I guess but for now still loving my 08 RZ2.
