@stevenM I'm down at LOTO and haven't seen you out yet, but then again this lake is huge! We surfed in long cove last eve and will be out later in it when kids are up from their nap. Hopefully we can meet up!

We are driving back to Colorado right now pulling a 2016 Z1 with TAPS3. This is a sold boat and I will be delivering it to the customer tomorrow. Yesterday I went to the lake with Factory Sales reps Bryan and Tony in the new RZX and Z1 with the TAPS3 system.
To sum up. WOW!!! Home run for tigé. Being the last ones to the side to side party they clearly take the cake. I have surfed a lot behind surf gate and NSS. I am biased towards tigé, but no BS I was not a fan of surf gate or NSS.

The transfer takes 3 seconds on the tigé and puts the boat into a solid list. It is an amazing wave on both sides and I am happy to be able to have this product to offer for 2016.

Having the remote in your hand is so cool as you don't have to yell at the driver or watch lights on the tower to know when the wave will change.

We as dealer are extremely excited about taps3 and can't wait to get them out there and to continue to have the best surf wakes in the industry!

And Tim, they changed the windshield back to a two piece because it is stronger than the one piece glass!

I will post more pictures and videos when I get back to Denver!

How does TAPS3 work?!?!?! I keep reading about how amazing it is, but I've yet to see a picture or an explanation.

that's correct. One tracking fin, which helps the boat position itself properly with TAPS3, with no noticeable difference while cruising. I could see this also helping when turning around to pick up your rider and in close quarters turning, as it would allow the boat to pivot easier.

JLG, you haven't seen me at LOTO because I live in California

I found those pictures through Instagram under the #tige , #tigelove and #tigeboats . The other photo someone had posted in a thread on The Malibu Crew.

I think the biggest thing Tige has going for it with the quick transfer setup is they are still listing the boats to that magic 7* number. From my understanding and the videos I've seen, they aren't trying to "delay the convergence" of the water flow but rather quickly change the hull of the boat from a port side list to starboard list.

Essentially they are weighting the hull on both sides and then using the Taps3 plates to raise the non surfside up out of the water giving the natural list to the surfing side. Also looks like one of the only "quick switch" boats to still have a well defined lip and clean/rampy look to it compared to some looking rounded over. Different wave shape for different folks, everyone has a preference.

The RZX is an interesting boat and I can't to see some more information on it....

The boat with T3 def lists over a bit, but I don't think its near 7 deg, I will have to check.

Say you were not interested in switching side to side but used the T3 system to list the surf side of the boat with the aid of the adjustable plates/Rams, could you get a great wake without all the traditional ballast to list the boat? If yes, the fuel consumption would be unchanged because you would be only weighting the surf side of the boat with the aid of the plate.

Am I missing something? Seems like a nice feature to have if it meant not having to run 1,000 lbs of surf side ballast if the plate helps list the boat.

                            Nharp1,

The taps 3 are plates and rams so additional rams and plates are not going to do anything.

Realistically listing the boat will make a wake, however there is no replacement for displacement. Ballast is required to sink the boat to displace more water. This allows for bigger wakes with more power to move you.

I understand you still need ballast to displace the water and sink the boat deeper into the water for energy. However, the TAPS3 plate has to help list the boat some and possibly reduce the need for "some" ballast? Maybe not?

Just a thought if not interest in quick side to side switching.

Without ballast or enough ballast, I think you get more lift then list. It would interesting to see a time lapse of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% then over factory ballast.
